Good one! OR...when you choose the check out line with the fewest number of people in front of you, and its the one that ends up taking the longest? You're thinking,'Yes, I'll be out of here in no time', then theres like 5 price checks for the person in front of you, or their card is not working, or there's not enough money in the register or...or...Happens to me every time. Its a law that the shortest line ends up taking the longest time to check out. Why do people drive around until they find the closest parking space to park in when they're at the gym? You're there to exercise, it doesn't hurt to park a few spaces farther out... Why is it that every time I go to the grocery store and go down an aisle, there is only one other person in the aisle, and by gosh, they are looking at buying the exact thing that I want. So they stand in front of the item and take 15 minutes to decide which brand of the item they want. And many of them know you're standing behind them and waiting Also on the topic of grocery stores, why do people let their kids run rampant around the store? My mom would have beat my ass if i acted that way in public. My boyfriend took it in June after his resident intern year. Some people in his program took it in April and May as well. I think its mostly your decision on when you schedule it. Finally got it yesterday, and I agree..they need to put in Decembers events if they are sending it out in November. I do have to say though, the Top Ten Ways To Deal With Relative Work is hilarious. Welcome to our club of underpaid, overworked graduate students....maybe MBA programs are not as bad as biology, but just take in the words of Marge Simpson when she said, 'Grad Students- they're not bad people, they just made terrible life choices.' She hit the nail on the head. And for the record: the appropriate ranking of cool modes of transportation is jet pack, hover board, transporter, Batmobile, and THEN giant ant. D.S. #8.8

My home DZ is Lodi too. Do you live in Reno? I do...the jumpers in this area are always planning carpools down there. If you're interested, PM me and we will get in touch! Congrats on AFF! I was a PC user until I went to graduate school. My advisor is a Mac lover and gave all his grad students Macs. Now, I will never go back to a PC. One reason that Apple tends to run better: Apple makes the Mac computer as well as the running system (OSX), so they communicate better you have fewer problems with the system. On any given PC, the PC could be made by Sony, Dell, HP etc., but the running system is Microsoft...two different companies trying the best they can to work together. Most times its fine, but there seem to be many problems with computer/running system communication, and you have to either be forced out of programs, or restart your computer all together. Like others have said, Apple is based on simplicity, which IMO, is much better than flashy programs and commands. Hope this helps. In no way am I a computer guru, but I love my mac! From what Im looking at, the Gunnar, Mindwarp and M1 are almost the exact same price.... But anyway, I have the M1 and I love it. Low profile, soft and quiet. I don't think you can go wrong with Cookie. And for the record: the appropriate ranking of cool modes of transportation is jet pack, hover board, transporter, Batmobile, and THEN giant ant. D.S. #8.8

They got it right, drink lots of water. Water hydrates the brain and helps you stay alert. Water will also lessen food cravings. The body reacts the same way with hunger or thirst, but we perceive both as hunger and so we eat, when said body was probably thirsty, not hungry. Also, have you tried splenda? I know, blah, blah, splenda will kill us, right? Wrong. As long as you consume it in moderate amounts you will be fine. Put like two or three packets of splenda in your coffee, then have the rest be sugar...baby steps.... One week I cut out all added sugar from my diet and felt so much better. I bet you anything you will be able to tell the difference. Sorry, Im kind of a health nut and start nerding out on questions like this And for the record: the appropriate ranking of cool modes of transportation is jet pack, hover board, transporter, Batmobile, and THEN giant ant. I LOVE that I have a job, but I hate going four strait weeks without a day off. Im doing my masters thesis in phylogenetic physiology, so I am considered legalized slave labor for my university. I also teach Human Anatomy and Physiology on cadavers, which is pretty much the coolest thing ever, in a creepy, science-nerd sort of way And for the record: the appropriate ranking of cool modes of transportation is jet pack, hover board, transporter, Batmobile, and THEN giant ant. I would recommend anything by Bill Bryson. He writes about his life experiences, and he is hilarious. I really liked 'A Walk in the Woods' and 'A Short History of Nearly Everything'. No offense, but if you already think its hard work to do the research on how to get in, how will you fare when you actually get in and are put under a very difficult courseload? If its something that you really want, the research should be the exciting part. Many of my best friends are in pharmacy school and I am currently in grad school for biology and am applying to medical school and we all work our asses off every single day. Just know what you are getting into...if you still want to go, thats AWESOME and pm me if you want more application advice. But it is very hard work. Do you have a biology/biochem/chemistry bachelors degree? Thats the first place to start. Then (if haven't already) get a job at a pharmacy and get your credentials as a pharmacy tech. Its hard to get accepted to pharmacy school if they see that you don't have any experience in the field. Study your butt off and do well on your PCAT. Get some voluteer experience so that when you apply, they see that you have interests in giving back to your community. I don't know about small netbooks, but I would not trade my 13' Macbook for anything. That thing has been on more airplanes than most people. Lightweight, compact, fast and .....well, its a Mac!

Congrats! Ill be down in Elsinore soon for a canopy skills camp. If you have the money, I would start skimming ads for used rigs. It was sooo nice to stop renting rigs...the gear rentals were more than my jump tickets! I saw your thread... Where are you doing AFF? I saw you did your tandem in Lodi? Thats my home DZ. Let me know when you finish your A so we can get some jumps in together sometime. Good luck on finishing AFF!

Hello, I've been surfing the forums for about three months and decided to write in and say hello! I just got signed off for my A license last weekend! Since I finished AFF in March, I think of all money matters in terms of how many jump tickets it is.... you want me to go to the movies? But thats like....a half a jump ticket. Filling up my car costs one jump ticket, so I've been riding the hell out of my road bike. Let see, what can I sell on eBay for more jump money? I have low jump numbers, but I swear I've jumped a million times in my head. I freaking LOVE this. So hello to everybody and I hope to jump with some of you in the future! Tia
