  1. Hey guys, im just here to get some ideas on the best way to set up gates for a swoop demo on a lake???? i have wind blades but how can i hold them still and not float around?? its my first time doing anything like this so im sorry if this question annoys anyone. Thanks Nick
  2. Hey guys! Just letting people know about this because i was super stoked to get this deal. Apparently "Deepseed" (NZ) are dong a 50% off casual gear, i brought some pants for BASE as they are made of the same material as the jumpsuits. You use a promo code to get it (BTDWOJAN11) I got this through there newsletter and there always doing deals on things!
  3. You have two good choices. Taupo, but its insainley buisy an you may only get on one or two loads. (tandem factory) Matamata, (just above taupo) small DZ but Mark Horning owns it and he is awesome very nice to deal with and they actually do a bit of sport jumping Maybe Rotorua as well but i have never jumped there. Good luck.
  4. iv emailed them at the DZ but had no response does anyone know how i can get some info on the jumping in dubai? thanks Nick
  5. I have had shun splints on and off for about 5 years now, no idea why maybe my shins are just shit! however this is how you fix them or at least it helps a lot. equipment needed: 1 golf ball. 1 tube of deep heat. 6-18 beers (but that's just an every day thing) instructions: put deep heat on you shins and roll the golf ball up and down them while having a beer in front of the TV.
  6. As above elipticals are not the best, however i use a 119 crossfire. has very nice slow openings and have not yet had an issue (i'm sure i will soon though) its loaded at 1.68 Blues!
  7. any one got a couch to crash on for 4 nights in jan (dubai is soooo expensive) just stoping over on my way to NZ to jump. thanks Nick

Yeah talk to Tomas at Skydive Able tasman! Motueka I think he has a couple. Other wise there is only people who might lend you one. Good luck
  9. Yeah i do but there is definitly more i can push into it but im a small dude, iv seen people flying the V loosening the arm off to go faster is this right?
  10. On my last flight in my pro-fly i had a extremely bad flight no idea why maybe because im shit anyway. so what im after is some specific advise on getting more forward speed out of this suit, Does anyone have any little tips for me??? Or any tips at all with this suit, i have around 40 jumps on it.
  11. Just to add something different, TONFLY! Nick
  12. Hey, thanks Ian i sent an Email a couple days ago. Nick
  13. OK i deleted the last post as it wasn't the best for this forum. as for d100965, im guessing your a weekend jumper as i have one third of your jumps in one year than you have done in 11. i jump most days as i work at a DZ and have experienced people helping me out here. all i am after is some other input on canopies or other good places to train. yes i am doing a course with Brian along with ones i have all ready done. going sub 100 is not for the number im wanting to fly the right canopy at the optimum wingloading. i dont want to go over 2.0 because that would not be the optimum weight for a crossfire. if anyone has something that might help me out and put me in the right direction that would be great.
  14. Hey, i'm looking at getting into competition next year, as a rookie. will be training over the winter here i Europe a couple hundred hop and pops. I'm flying a 119 Crossfire but was wondering what a good canopy for the beginner competitor would be. My thoughts were a 99 crossfire but would love some in put i would be putting the 99 at 1.9 WL. also anyone recommend a good place to train for a couple weeks in Feb (i was thinking Empuria) Thanks Nick
  15. Yeah, switching to canon cost me a bit and its a pain t sell my Nikon now but! its bin so easy to fly with it just set it up and dont have to worry about anything now! i would suggest for anyone looking at stills buy a canon (or my Nikon!) pik of my new set up below
  16. Yeah Yeah Yeah FUCK NIKON, iv changed to Canon!
  17. Hey dude! Stoked to see your getting out there the sky is a beautiful place! now this is the guy you want to talk to!!!!! Dale Elliot, he is an aussie guy who is paralised as well he was at our dropzone jumping. he will tell you everything super nice guy aswell! hope you have Facebook. that maybe a stupid question these days as even the oldies are online (my mum) http://www.daleelliott.com/ http://www.facebook.com/#!/daleelliott?ref=ts Email him! NOW! see ya in the blue bro!
  18. Hey, Heres my issue, im flying with my Nikon d40x Yes Nikon not the best thing for camera flying but im poor! the problem is this camera only works on a wireless remote switch. i have been taping it to my finger and am able to push the button but that is a massive pain in the arse as you could imagine. here was my thinking as i sat in class one day..... its a arm band with a retractable key ring glued, duct taped and sewn into it (impossible to get back out) the chain is made of a light metal and is strong. What do you think? any problems that i havnt thought of? thanks Nick (pics are of the THING!)
  19. Im confused, are you asking if anyone is jumping surface piercings? or. . . ? Yeah surfing caused me to loose a septum ring, as well. Its the only time ive lost any jewelery other than that one earring. Wonder if anyone is jumping with microdermals, where they have them, and how they hold up? Probably getting a few of those in the near future. Yes i was asking if anyone is jumping with surface piercings. and on the micro dermal piercings that's what i have in my arm, and i know a friend that has them in his back, my arm ones were always getting knocked i wouldn't bother with them in your arm that's all i can say.
  20. I have had two piercings in my arm and have been jumping with them no problems..... surfing however another story -1 now. i don't think many piercings would effect jumping at all maybe a surface piercing on your neck. let me know if anyone is jumping with them!
  21. I do agree with this, i have taken some of these points on board and am talking with the big man over here to find out if my training i have done for wing suiting is good enough other than that ill just have to go to empuria to fly (not that that sucks at all its warm down there) On the note of these two school children bitching about nothing, you two need to stop this bull sh1t on pages were people are trying to get some help. mabey you could private message each other so i can get some good answers and make the right descision about what to do. Thanks to all that have helped me out, to those who are bitching GO JUMP AND HAVE SOME FUN!
  22. looking for a good place to go flock over christmas in europe... can anyone suggest a place thanks
