  1. You do no need a cross brace to compete. My wife did just fine under her Katana 107 loaded @ 1.3 In fact she beat a few of the x-braced boys who verticalled or had a crappy turn (she was doing 90's). Also Louddan was doing well under his Sabre2 135 at the CPC finals. If you'll only compete in a non-xbraced division then maybe competition just isn't for you. Remember - it's about learning - not winning. Blues. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  2. If anyone has any footage they'd like to send to me I plan on throwing something together. I know Nick B's buddy was out there filming along with T-Dog. Any footage from practice to competition for pros and ams would be great appreciated and obviously credited. Please PM me if you're interested in sharing. Thanks again for a kick ass time all. Each one of you are rockstars

  5. Thanks again to Mile-Hi, the staff and all the organisers (Jim, Jason, Lyle, etc) for their hard work. I had a blast
  6. Yes there will be, and No they absolutely are NOT bastard children here. The organizing is generally freefly orientated but I'm sure Scotty and Chris will throw some things together. There aren't too many RW folk as Thomaston cause they bitch about jumping the King Air. Funny thing is that I've seen some 14 ways built out of Mullins plane and there are a shitload of RW people out there. My conclusion - RW are whiney and spoilt Just kidding people Seriously though, we'd love to have RW folks at the boogie. EVERYONE is welcome (even wingsuit fliers - and Baxter will be there). 7. So I know they got started today - if anyone has any results, etc or knows when the scores are posted up please let me know. Best of luck to everyone. Wishing you all good runs. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  8. Mark, thanks but I like having my own bed and not sleeping on the floor. I'll rather have a room on my own, worst case scenario. Blues. Performance Designs Factory Team
  9. Hey Folks, So I had my hotel roomie unexpectedly bail. He can't make the CPC meet cause of school (Guess you can teach an old rockspider new tricks ). Soooo I have a room at a 55 pe night rate (total) to split with someone if they need it. Also got a rental car. PM me if you're interested or need a place to stay for a few days. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  10. Yep what Mark said. The Days Inn, Best Western and Jameson Inn are all about the same distance (5 miles) from the DZ. The Jameson is probably the nicest, but the Best Western and Days Inn will have the best rates. See you soon
  11. Great news. See you in a few Performance Designs Factory Team
  12. Just wanted to say thanks to Parachute Systems USA (Louis). Typically dealing with the South African branch of Parachute Systems has been a cause of many headaches, but Louis (the local US rep) has done nothing but bend over backwards for me to get some stuff I needed in a huge hurry. Just wanted to say thanks and let anyone out there with Vortex/Hurricane/Decelrators in the USA that I highly recommend dealing with Louis if you need anything done. I have his contact info available via PM if needed. Thanks again Louis. Blues. Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  13. I'm not sure if everyone is going? If you're coming please put yourself on the list. I think this is going to be a great time! Attendees (from prior posts): Todd Spillers Stuart Shoenfeld JP Furnari Nick Batsch David Billings Grant Adams Jason Russell Aubrey Cundell Steve Armstrong Ian Drennan Brian McNenny Paul Roussouw Mark Shimell That's 13 so far - I'm sure there are others coming - fess up Just 2 more weekends and I'm out there - can't wait. 14. Nonsense. To get the most distance you HAVE to have you feet out as far in front of you as possible for touchdown. If you can figure out how to stand up, regardless of wind AND still have your legs way out in front of you, let me know. Physically it's not possible. In competition nowdays, using that technique for each run can give you 3 feet (1.5 for each or more maybe). Doesn't sound like much but as competition gets tighter and tighter it can mean the difference between 1st and 2nd place. Some people prefer to stand up. I chose a standup over a reach in a comp once and lost 1st place in distance by 1.5 feet. Not a mistake I'll make again. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  15. The Southeast CPC Region will be sending the following pilots to Colorado (Weather cancelled a meet so the best 3 out of 4 competitions were used in this region): 1st - Ian Drennan Total:4 (1st, 1st, 2nd) 2nd - Brian McNenny Total:7 (3rd, 1st, 3rd) 3rd - Paul Roussow Total:8 (2nd, 3rd, 3rd) 4th - Mark Shimell Total: (5th, 2nd, 1st) Not sure how Paul and Mark would be placed as they tied, however going on 'lowest' placing is what I've done above. I'm sure Dave Hebert will correct any errors. I'd like to thank everyone who competed in the Southeast Region. You're all fine pilots and I hope you have had as challenging and enjoyable year as myself. Dave - thanks for all your hard work organizing it all. See you all in CO. 17. I really wish I didn't have to answer Yes to that Chuck Skimmy was on his game. It was neck and neck between he and I until the speed rounds. That little shit is getting good times under that velo 84 Congrats to Shitmil though - I believe he owes beer for the win

  19. Well, I'm really glad I'm not able to attend that event then. As stated before, unreasonable amounts of weight I can understand, but not allowing me to wear 20 pounds (or even 10) and INSTEAD encouraging me to jump a smaller canopy is BS. Not to mention that this SEVERELY hampers female competitive pilots - granted right now there aren't a boatload of them but I expect to see more emerge in the next few years. 22. If it's reasonable I have no issue with it. If I can't wear 25 pounds of lead I'd take issue with it. Unfortunately can't make Nats for Canopy Piloting (long story ), but I will be there in CO - weights and all Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
  23. CPC round 4 (actually round 5 but round 4 never happened because of weather) has been moved from Emerald Coast to Skydive Atlanta for this weekend. See you all there. Blues, Ian Performance Designs Factory Team
