There are only two "Models" of Reflex, articulated and non-articulated. They were built in every size. Contact the authorized parts/service center for if you have questions. I think it would be a bit harder to harness steer the canopy. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

uncascaded(sp/) microline for spectre?
diablopilot replied to bodypilot90's topic in Gear and Rigging
I'd say not really. The most common reason for a non-cascaded lineset is CReW. And most CReW dogs won't let you get too close with microline. Otherwise I don't see much of a reason unless you choose to change line type, to say Dacron, and then you might see added benifits. Softer openings and CreW dogs won't look at you quite as funny when you ask to play. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. -
Is kind fun to try to chunk a 10 griped star off the plane too! (Now I've just got to find 9 willing victims and a small door aircraft!) ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Amazing that we have to put up with that, huh? I get about two a month here.... I'm glad there are others out there! Mucho Applauso! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

IMHO the purple looked bad, blackberry (especialy when backlit by the sun) is the color most people are looking for anyway. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

So that there is no confusion, although they may believe it, DZO's are not deities, so I'm pretty sure that their judgment is just as susceptible to fault as any other skydiver. However they are a little higher profile, and we do live in a litigious society, so any DZO that made that kind of recommendation, obviously is insane, and doesn't value his/her dropzone any more. In order to help them out I'd be willing to let them sign over ownership to me say, tomorrow at around 3pm? just my nickel's worth..... ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. I think it is ethical for anyone who has more experience, and recognizes the danger of the situation to inform me (as the hypothertcal jumper) of thier opinion. But in the end all of us are responsible for our own actions. Perhapse the S&TA, DZM, DZO, or other empowered safty official, will step in and forbid the person to jump untill they have the required experience. Of course the person could just go jump somewhere else. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Because of the nature of all the quotes in your message, I'm not sure but are you saying Fliteline is back in business, and not using the catapult? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Hmmm.. made 21 in January. Goal is to make 52 more than last year, so I can say I made a 1000 in one year. Don't hate me. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Bill, Without showing you the pictures it's hard to explain, but think of a system that uses the main to static line your reserve "directly" when cutting away, but "knows" to disengage when the reserve p/c is doing its job..... Nevermind. Mr. Booth has been here ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

And if you put Andy, Luke, Jeffro, and TJ under Xaos's what would you have? Oh yeah the winners of the Team Challenge! ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Check that exit weight again, it sounds like it might be a little light for a male. Tell your friend to seek advice, and not to stop seeking advice untill he's heard arguments from BOTH sides. Tell him to get the advice of a profesional canopy coach. Tell him that having twice the experience on his current canopy will not kill him. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Canopy nazi. Hmm sounds like the term someone would use when they "know it all". I have a statement for that type of person on our DZ. When I have tried to educate them from my experience, and that of others who have learned the hard way. After I've pointed out the incident reports, and the fact that there is plenty of time to grow in this sport. When all the gory bonfire stories of ambulance rides, and seeing friends die have not worked, I've said this: "Nice canopy."

Don't they smell like Formaldehyde? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

I used to be a disaster area when it came to V-day! Three years running: 1st year, girlfriend was caught cheating 2nd year, my classic 1965 Imperial land yacht was t-boned by some idiot. 3rd year, had to put my 15 year old dog down. Spent the next few years ignoring the date. This year should be great, I have a wonderful woman to share it with..... ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Check out the manufacturer's websites, but the best way is to look at the different rigs, and get a hands on feel for it. Ask a Tandem Instructor to explain it for you. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

And doesn't work at all on Sigmas. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Sorry about the shoulder thing.... I want to whine too! It's been crap weather for three weeks now, I just got a new canopy that has only been in the air once, and its cold. Blah. Next? ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Ah, the trunk pack! (good method for getting your rig stored at the end of the day quickly, so you don't miss out on the good stuff in the beer fridge) If you are going to use this method of storing, for saftey's sake, I would sugest NOT packing the pilot chute. Infact wrap the bridal completely around the rig so you don't forget your rig is not closed properly.... ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. It should be noted that changing from brass to stainless grommets can lead to harder, or quicker openings if the slider size is not changed. The heavier SS grommets will aid the slider in coming down the lines faster. On a slow opening canopy this may not be a bad thing. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.
