FYI: We actualy did a 120 way 3 point dive the day before, however we did not hold the 2nd point long enough to show a completion on video. Bummer. I guess we'll just have to go bigger next year. Thanks for those that gave me advice on where to stay, and if anyone here doesn't read the General Skydiving Forum, on April 19th, 2003 we turned two points on a 120 person formation, setting a new world record! What an experience! My thanks go out to Guy, Boxman, Gareth, Louie, Marku, Derick, Mike, the support team, Z-hills, the pilots, and especially the other 119 people on the record with me! It was a week of some of the most intense, and tiring skydiving, and in the end we prevailed! Amazingly enough all the jumpers rallied together after we had a 3 point 120way pulled out of our grasp because we did not hold the 2nd point long enough to show on video. Something like that could have killed the spirit of the event, but the organizers did their job motivating us, and we were determined enough to set a new record! Thank you again to all involved! This Sunday, in conjunction with JANKFEST 03’ the first installment of Swoop Club will happen. What will become a monthly competition to bring out the best in your canopy flying skills, this is not just for the “Hot Shots” The event will be designed to challenge anyone who wishes to participate, and if anyone remembers the last canopy competition at SkyDance you will know that the winners were NOT the guys on the smallest canopy out there! Here are the details: Briefing: Just after Sunset on Saturday the 12th Competition: 2 rounds of zone accuracy first load will be wheels up by no later than 9am (Competitors must be here by 8:30am (It’s going be a fun weekend so my suggestion is bring a tent and just camp out!). One round of distance will be run after the competition for all those that want to prove they are the shiznizzle! Cost: Registration will be $10 all registration fees go to the prize pool. Hop & Pop loads are $8 to 3000agl or $10 4000k in the 182 (ride the beast!) Heard this story before. IIRC someon lost control of a aircraft they were hand proping (starting) and it was not chocked, no brakes set or they failes, and it walked itself right you the ass end of the aircraft you see. ---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Just got my first shipment of them and I think they are outstanding. Comfortable, and stylish. About as good protection as anything else out there. Very nice finish, my only compaint is the mini seat belt type buckle on the chin strap. Over kill if you ask me, but functional. Actualy there are at least two manufacturers that will build custom sized canopies. One of them is Precision Aerodynamics, and the other is Icarus.
