  1. 95% of those will not place a dog that has attacked a child. They will do the same thing. It is a liability to place a dog known to attack. I worked for a no-kill shelter, and we kept dogs as long as we needed to, However if the dog has attacked (not nipped, but full on attacked) a person especially a child they were unplaceable. We were far easier on them then the state funded shelters. We were not bound to the rules that they are. Most people don't really realize how many dogs are put down at the pound or various state funded shelters. They have limits to the number of animals they have at any given time and are REQUIRED to take in EVERY dog that comes in. Which means that when they are full and need to make space, if they cant find somewhere else to send them, they kill them I think for all involved that the best course of action with the level of damage done to the child, the dog really should be put down. If it was just a set of teeth marks sure, but not with over 200 stitches She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto
  2. Chris, I am so sorry to hear this...he is in my thoughts and prayers. But there is something as a dog lover I must make very clear. I have two dogs of my own that I love dearly and they are like my kids. However, if they ever draw blood on anyone and not provoked (baby's are excluded, they don't know better) they are done. I have seen too many dogs once they actually attack, never recover back to normal status. This wasn't a little nip, the dog mauled the child You can not control what other people do with the dog, they might not have kids, but friends or other family might. In good conscious would you feel OK letting a dog loose with other people knowing it attacked a small child? I know I couldn't. This is just some information to process. It isnt an easy decision, but in the long run as hard as it is...it really should be done. I have worked with troubled dogs in a both a home and a sheltered enviroment. Even the no kill shelters will NOT place a dog that has attacked another person, let alone a child. It is a HUGE liability. Please please please, think about this all..... 8. I ended up using This Recipe. You can never go wrong with Emeril! They came out freaking fantastic!!!! The frosting is yummy too!!!! I have a convection oven, so I ended up cooking them @325 for 15 min. Emeril's Butter Cookies Recipe courtesy Emeril Lagasse, 1999 Show: Emeril Live Episode: Kids Rule 3/4 pound (3 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar 6 large egg yolks 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 3 cups plus 2 tablespoons bleached all-purpose flour 3/4 teaspoon salt Assorted sprinkles Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Cream the butter and sugar in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle, on medium speed, scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary. Cream the mixture until it is smooth and fluffy. Add the egg yolks 1 at a time, mixing in between each addition. Scrape down the sides of the bowl. Beat for 1 minute and add the vanilla. Combine the flour and the salt in a medium-size mixing bowl. Mix well. Add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix on low speed until it is fully incorporated. Increase the speed to medium and mix until the batter is thick and creamy, about 2 minutes. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and the paddle. Lightly flour a flat surface. Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough to 1/4-inch thick. Cut the dough into the desired shapes. Line a baking sheet with parchment or waxed paper. Place the cookies on the baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake until lightly golden, about 20 minutes. Remove the cookies from the oven and let cool completely in the pan. Remove the cookies from the pan using a spatula. Repeat the process until all the dough is used. Frost each cookie and garnish with sprinkles. 14. I used to think the same thing. Then I worked in medicine, and I saw what some people went through. I can't imagine a more horrific way to go than pancreatic cancer - an exceedingly painful death. My thought is this - within five minutes I could have you begging me to kill you. This guy was probably absolutely miserable and literally could take it no more. Well if it was that bad surely some opiate would work well? Of course he will be going from one hell to another, but at least he would be alive...? But why live your life in a stooper? Seriously think about it. I for one would not want to remain alive as a veggie. but that is my opinion. At the point I cannot live my life and enjoy it, why? Each person has what they can tolerate, Pain sucks, real pain. Im not talking just a little owie...but the stuff that keeps you up at night, that makes even the most simple tasks hell.... I try to imagine what it would be like to stuck in the amount of pain I was in with my shoulder and stuck there. And I would NEVER want to live that way. You cannot assume you know what someone else is going through. Sometimes we only know part of a HUGE picture. It is also easy to jump to conclusions, and as humans we are quite good at doing that. I know I have done it, and try not too...but sometimes we just do. She is not a "Dumb Blonde" - She is a "Light-Haired Detour Off The Information Superhighway." eeneR TF#72, FB#4130, Incauto

  16. Oh please god no! The act of eating is one of the last bastions of humanity we have left. What's next, an automated suction and baster system so we can reproduce by ejactulating into a machine and squirting it into the uterus so we don't have to waste our precious blackberry time with sex?? Sweet!!! That is a kick ass idea, sign me up. Well except for the reproducing part, no time for babies. What is Huggybear going to say? Bwahahahaha...u mean PookieBear? New toys!!!

Ok, that is damn cool looking!!!! the thing that I am nervous about however is the tolerance at the bottom of the Nano where the 3.5mm connection goes in (headphones, or aux connection) is tight. I will have to see if I can find someone who carries those in the store and check it out.. thanks!

Yes and no, these things are super tiny, and I need something that will protect it and still make it usable. I can buy a strap of velcro easily and sew it, the problem is finding the right thing to hold this puppy... New toys!!!

So after my iPod decided to croak on me a few months back I had been hemming and hawing on what to get to replace it. My subi has the aux jack for input so anything will work. I teetered on getting XM radio, but I still needed something to take to the gym, the last I had heard the portables for XM and Sirius were eh at best. So I broke down and picked up an 8gig iPod Nano. It uses almost all of the existing cabling I have from the regular iPod only thing new I need is carrying case for it. Problem there most of the ones I found SUCK ASS. The case I have for it now, just for protection in my pocket is very cool, except that where the jack plugs in is partially blocked so you cant have headphones plugged into it with the case closed. That kind of defeats the purpose. So on that, any recommendations on arm bands and carrying cases for the 8gig Nano's?
