Not for skydiving, but still pretty cool =)
Teigen replied to lilchief's topic in Photography and Video
You only get one frame every two seconds from it though! nothing 30mp can do if you're not in frame :P But im sure he is an excellent camera flyer if he sports a $20k camera! -
Thanks for the feedback everyone! If any of you wants prints of any of these photos just let me know and i will gladly print and send you a copy, at a very reasonable skydiver discount price!

For youtube i use wmv or mp4.. both nice format for that purpose.. Looks really good!

But then again i know cameraflyers with setups weighing in at a staggering 15-20 lbs! so i guess if you have the physics for it a 1D probably wouldnt be that bad.. Ofcourse you loose the FF sensor but you can do 10 frames a second! and that is a good thing to have in a sport like this! -

The 1Ds are heavy as fuck! i have two and you definetily feel it when you've lugged them around for a day! But i've seen 1Ds on camera helmets on a couple of occasions.. Alltough i would prefer Full Frame if i bought a body for skydiving. Im getting the 5DMarkII for work and i think it might be pretty good for skydiving, paired with a 15mm for example! -
Just waiting for a vid on youtube now Elias :D

Im thinking about the Phantom 2 myself! Still got 100 jumps to go! but the word on the street is that its a perfect first flight suit if you feel comfortable!
-
Correct! most of the shots were taken with either the 70-200mm or the 500mm.. Both L IS USM lenses so top notch glass and focus! The biggest problem shooting at Bispen for example isn't focusing but rather keeping them in the viewfinder.. The photo of Jokke in the V3 at 1:22 is probably one of the most lucky shots i ever made! I had them radio me who and where people were going and i knew he was gonna go tight. So i went with the 70-200 to have some flexibility. And the fact that i got THAT exact frame is just pure luck! If you watch the video called "Bispen Flybys" the first pass there is the pass in the still photo. When they are going THAT fast you basically have to hold the trigger down and hope for the best.. a millisecond later and he would be onscured by the roadsign.. I think the ones taken after the pass where you see the forest in the background came out really nice too! those were taken with the 500.. Real easy ones because you no longer have to pan to keep them in frame. And most people had a good 8-10 second flight from the road to deployment so i had tons of time to get alot of shots. Here's a few selected ones that Jarno posted on his site! Jokke Lutz Lutz deploying Lutz dropping by Vesa Jarl Rami Rami deploying

Really cool photos! nice exposure in the air! Thankfully some people know to stick to color combinations that look good on photos! :D

Depending on where you live.. You may have to deal with jumpin in sub-zero temperatures any given day of the year! Heck we had 10 degrees celsius on the ground today! -20+ at 12500! But thanks anyway scott!

Not the fan i used to be! but i still love Metallica! seen them 4 times here in Norway! But sadly it seems they are growing old and away from what they were 20 years ago. I have all their new albums too, but i rarely listen to anything pre load and re-load! Nonetheless. Greatest Metal band ever!

I've been trying to figure out if there is a time lapse mode on the CX105 with no luck... I've done a couple of time lapse test shots just letting the camera run. But its not really a efficient way to do it. I know some cameras has modes that records one frame of video every second and then compresses 25 frames down to a single second. Im planning on doing some timelapses at my DZ and i want to use my CX105. Is there any way of doing this in the camera? or do i have to get software for my laptop and control the recording through it? Thanks in advance!

Speaking of stupid set-ups! i brought my Canon 500mm F4 IS USM to the DZ a couple of weeks ago. Mounted it to a friends helmet and grabbed a few shots of him with the lens on my 1DMKII on his head! im gonna get him to send it to me.. Ill get it up here!
