  1. Dutch/Irish. Born in Conn, raised in Fla, live in Cali. As far of types of people who skydive I have met just about every race. Personalities range from sinners to saints, liberal to conservative. Its very difficult to try to pinpoint a typical skydiver trait, although many have tried. Its all good
  2. Gorge yourself on balut. Thats the most twisted thing that I have read on here
  3. One of my friends gave me a call from there about 2 days before he went back to the States. I am currently in Kosovo. I have Tmobile. You should not have any trouble. It will be expensive
  4. Thanks, a lot of soldiers where I'm at are gonna get this lol...

The PI to . Never saw anything like that when I was there. (thats my story and I'm sticking to it)
  7. The messhall is run by KBR and not Army. That being said, breakfast is pretty good. Lunch and dinner gets a little bland. The tour here is ok I really can not complain. Friends (long distance and short distance) do help.
  8. Problem is the days seem like months

  13. Probabably not as unusual as some but here goes.. Place..a dropzone somewhere in southern california. Time summer of 83 (yeah I'm a geezer) I was in a tent and just droped by to chat with the young lady and I turned on a flashlight cause I couldn't see to good and the flashlight stayed on and I err.. we sort of put on a interesting shadow show that night.. Thats it folks. No cliffs or Starbucks but it was pretty funny when it happened. Gotta go, time to change my "Depends".....
  14. Lets see, other than being deployed about 9000 miles or so away from family and friends, only having an 8 by 12 area to live in. Eating at a mess hall that serves realy blah food, I realy can not complain. Frankly there are a lot worse areas that I could be in. No ones trying to kill me here
  15. I know I'm gonna regret this but what is a T.A.R.D.I.S ??
  16. I want a safe return from my deployment. I want my friends and family to have happy healthy lives. (Somewhere in there a cold beer would be nice)
  17. Ditto on the female cats. The males will spray and you DON'T want that in your house
  18. People wanting to dance after 2 am?? How dare they. There is a special place in Hell for people like that.
  19. Ya know when I first joined this site I thought I would pick up tips on skydiving, gear etc.. should have known...lol
  20. Frankly the way I feel right now not even the crack of dawn is safe
  21. Tombstone is about 40 miles outside of Tucson. When I was going to school at Ft Huachucha I used to go there every weekend for a steak dinner at the Longhorn saloon.
  22. When I first joined the Army (1975) I went the 11B route. It left me woefully unprepared when I started looking for employment on the civillian side of the house. My advice is to seek an MOS in comunications, or MI. Those type of skill sets can help out when he re-enters civillian life. What ever his choice I wish him all the best!!
