Well, most of the Branch Davidians believed that Koresh was the next Messiah. Most of them died (were martyred) for those beliefs. Does that mean Koresh was trustworthy? Wrong. You are correct that you can't convince me. But evidence could. That 'supernatural act of God' would be very convincing. God could do that if he wanted to. If he actually existed. The OT is full of miracles, and all sorts of 'evidence'. However, it's also full of a lot of garbage, stuff that has been pretty much proven that it didn't happen. And we haven't seen an "according to Hoyle miracle" in a long time. What, did God go on strike? The 'concise Gospel' is just a retelling of the same story. One version of the story, and there are thousands. Yet yours is the 'truth'. No proof, just faith. And I honestly don't have a problem with that. Thank you. I mostly agree with the fear that R dominated (through gerrymandering) state legislatures will ignore the results of free & fair elections and install their choice of candidate. I have no clue how much they could get away with. The courts made it pretty clear that any claims of 'election fraud' need real proof. What would happen in court with a 'quasi-legal' election theft is a good question. Keep in mind that those trying to steal the Presidential election contemplated what would happen if the populace rose up and fought the theft. There were those who said "that's what the insurrection act is for", implying that they'd deploy the military to ensure their coup succeeded. There's been a fair amount of discussion about that in a wide variety of places. General conclusions, from people who seem to know what they're talking about are that it would have gotten bloody. Some troops would have put down protests over Trump's theft. Most, however, would have remembered that their loyalty (and their oath) is to the Constitution, not the President. So the troops that fired on protestors would likely receive fire from other troops. And once it started getting bloody, the protestors would also shoot back. Just because the Right Wing nutcases insist on prancing around with all their guns, pretending to be tough, don't forget that they AREN'T the only ones with guns.

The people cheering for the courts have had much bigger crowds. And that in itself is telling. The MAGA morons have been classic bullies. Nobody stood up to them for a long time. But people have started to. The "Proud Boy" shitheads got their asses handed to them in Brooklyn... By a bunch of drag queens. If the MAGA idiots think they can start a civil war, let them. Some folks are claiming Russia is blaming Ukraine for it, saying they used a SAM to shoot it down. Which is at least sort of silly. The crash was maybe 150 miles Northwest of Moscow. So Ukraine snuck that far into Russia, set up a SAM battery (including Radar & command vehicles) and then escaped after the shoot down. US intel is saying it was an onboard bomb. Biden says he's "not surprised".

So, of course, the Soviets fought very tenaciously for their own survival. It cost many millions of lives. Nobody knows for sure how many, estimates usually start at 20 million. Of course, certain people refuse to see that the Russians are the equivalent of the Nazis in the current scenario. So they spout bullshit about 'Ukraine is FULL OF NAZIS!!!!!'. Kinda funny that the Wagner Group is OVERTLY Nazi sympathetic. Certain people CLAIM that the Azov Battalion is 'full of Nazis, with tattoos to prove it', ignoring all of the pictures and other evidence that the Wagners are just that. Also, the Ukrainians are doing a damned good job of destroying Russian stores and infrastructure on Crimea. They've taken back a significant amount of territory, something like 3 sq km in the Bakmuht area. It took the Russians months to take that ground. And a shitload of dead Russians. Reports are that the Black Sea 'Fleet' is now minus a couple more ships. Best of all, the Chechen thugs under Kadyrov engaged in a 'minor skirmish' with Russian troops. Several dead and something like 40 wounded.
