  1. Hate to say it, but actual cards are on the way out. Everyone does the 'electronic' version.
  2. Dear God, Lee. The whole post is gold, but the quoted stuff is platinum.
  3. Setting them properly. There are some slight & subtle differences between manufacturers. Make sure you're doing it the way the manufacturer says to. Do that and they tend to stay put quite well.
  4. Yeah, if you look at him 15 or 20 years ago and then look at today, there's a serious decline. And, of course, if you look at Biden 20 years ago, the speech patterns, hesitations & mistakes were there back then too. Not a whole lot of change.
  5. Then he pays the import duties. Contrary to what the Alt-Right wants to believe, the border is ANYTHING BUT 'open'.
  6. Fully agree on the 'drool' part. But it's a new car. Got any clue what a '68 Shelby GT500 goes for? Or a convertible Hemi 'Cuda?
  7. Legit Hemi 'Cudas are 'museum pieces' right now. Same as Daytona Chargers, "Superbird" Road Runners, Shelby Cobras (both the Mustang & Roadster versions) and a host of other rare cars. You might want to reexamine your understanding of 'theory'. It's a heavily tested and proven idea of why & how something happens. Gravity is a good example. Gravity itself is a 'fact'. You leave the airplane and you go down. Period. But why do you do that? HOW does the planet pull you towards itself? THAT is the 'fun' part. There are a couple different, competing theories on how & why. Much of it is fact. Some is speculation and conjecture. Prove it and you get a Nobel Prize. And I agree with and largely approve of those willing to engage the trolls to combat their propaganda and disinformation. Without that, their idiotic claims go unchallenged and some will believe them. I don't have the discipline and self control to do it without 'crossing lines' and getting into trouble. So I choose to not engage.
  8. Maybe, maybe not. It's not a stretch to say that the prosecutor put a LOT of pressure on her. The prospect of very big legal bills (that Trumpty Dumpty is NOT helping with) and a long stretch in prison is pretty serious 'coercion'. "Extortion" is a bit strong, but not completely incorrect. Reading the article, I don't see anywhere that she says she's innocent of the charges. She's still pretending the election was stolen, votes were fraudulent and the prosecution is 'rigged' against conservatives (you know, a 'witch hunt'). Also crying that she can't have 'attorney client privilege' (Funny how Trumpty had claimed she was never his attorney). All of the standard crap to rile up the MAGA morons and get them to send her money. But I don't see anywhere that she denies she committed the crimes she pled guilty to. THAT would be a problem. I remember when Kathleen Soliah was found, arrested & tried. She had been part of the SLA (that kidnapped Patty Hearst) and was a fugitive for a long time. She pled guilty in late 2001, correctly thinking that a terrorist who planted bombs would not likely get much sympathy in the immediate aftermath of the Sept 11 attacks. After pleading guilty, she went out on the courthouse steps and held a news conference where she proclaimed her innocence. And promote her cookbook, being sold as a fundraiser. The judge got rather pissed and pulled her back into court. There was an interesting kerfuffle, and she ended up going to trial. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sara_Jane_Olson As with most of the court stuff after the 'stolen election', she's saying a lot of shit. But she knows where the line is, and doesn't seem to be crossing it.
  9. Says a lot about US TSA that he was allowed on the plane in San Francisco without it being detected. Funny how that isn't mentioned in the article.
  10. Hi Jerry, I'd bet a LOT that people from the prosecutors office and lawyers for ALL the defendants are talking. "What can you give us and what do you want?" Going both ways. Reports are that Chesebro was offered a deal a little while ago, that he declined. The deal was nearly identical to the one he accepted last week.
  11. I agree that the 'normally plural' used in the singular is challenging. It just 'feels' weird. Nowhere near as challenging as what they have to go through, so I just go with it.
  12. If you aren't sure, ask. I know a few trans folks. It's pretty clear how they identify. It's NOTclear what their preferred pronouns are. The 'interesting' part is that those folks are clearly gratified to be asked. It's apparent that the 'asking' part doesn't insult them. It makes it clear that I want to address them they way THEY WANT TO BE and that I will respect their desires in that area. OTOH, my younger sister has a daughter, Alice. Just turned 20. Identifies as female, but goes with 'they/them/their'. And prefers to be called "Al". I have asked my sister if her daughter is familiar with the Paul Simon tune, and she wasn't sure. https://www.google.com/search?gs_ssp=eJzj4tFP1zcsNjAtj7c0ijdg9BItSCzNUSjOzM3PU0hOzMlRyE1VSMwBANJDC6g&q=paul+simon+call+me+al&rlz=1C1CHBF_enUS910US910&oq=Paul+Simon+call+&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBwgBEC4YgAQyBggAEEUYOTIHCAEQLhiABDIHCAIQABiABDIHCAMQABiABDIHCAQQABiABDIHCAUQABiABDIHCAYQABiABDIHCAcQABiABDIHCAgQABiABNIBCDc3NDJqMGo3qAIAsAIA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
  13. Hi Jerry, I believe you are correct that 'presidential immunity' has never been formally ruled upon. Nixon was pardoned, so he was never charged (there's a hell of a debate about the validity of it, but that's "a whole 'nuther" thing). The main reason it's never been ruled upon is that we've NEVER had a President commit the crimes that Trump did. Kind of like how there's no prohibition against convicted felons being President. Because, apparently, the founding fathers never realized we'd be stupid enough to elect one. Fun fact: If Powell wasn't Trump's attorney, 'attorney-client privilege' can't be claimed. So she's free to testify about anything they discussed.
  14. Disclaimer: Wisconsin resident who has voted for Rs in the past (pre-Trump) but will NEVER do so again. Vos is an idiot. He's pulled his shit and gotten away with it for too long. He doesn't realize it won't keep working. Wisconsin is pretty evenly divided. Statewide races (Governor, US Senator, Supreme Court) are usually pretty close. Recounts are fairly common. Protasiewicz won with an 11% margin. That's HUGE right now. Part of her message as a candidate was that the gerrymandering was wrong. Vos has claimed repeatedly (and incorrectly) that for Protasiewicz to state her position on an issue likely to come before her is inappropriate. He's wrong. She NEVER said how she'd rule, just that gerrymandering is wrong in principle because it disenfranchises voters. The fact that the R/D split in statewide races is usually very close (the Barnes/Johnson race for US Senate in the same election went to a recount) compared to the nearly 2/3 majority the Rs have in the state legislature (both Assembly & Senate) kind of shows that to be true. Vos repeatedly called for an impeachment. With the exception of a few Trumpettes and a handful of sycophants, nobody agreed. While it was possible that the impeachment would have occurred, there's no way she would have been removed.
  15. That's funny. Your hero, Putler, has said the exact opposite. https://apnews.com/article/joe-biden-europe-summits-d86605a1c60be7c9ca856028030b961b
  16. Hi Jerry, One of the interesting things about RICO is how well it provides people willing to make a plea deal. Originally intended to allow prosecution of the 'boss' who orders crimes but doesn't actually participate, it also allows prosecution of other members of the 'organization', who may not have committed crimes (or major crimes) themselves. There are valid criticisms of the over reach of the law, but it's got the handy ability to put pressure on someone who didn't do much, but is now facing significant time behind bars for being a part of a larger criminal organization. The truly funny part of THAT is the history of the use of it, particularly in New York, where those RICO laws were used very effectively to greatly reduce the power of the big 5 crime families. The funny part is who the prosecutor was. Rudy Giuliani.
  17. Ahhhh yes. The conspiracy fantasy that Covid was 'engineered' and intentionally released. Without even attempting to address the fact that anyone trying to use a virus as a weapon would probably pick one that has more than single digit percentage mortality. Kinda hard to address the 'substance' of an accusation when there's... Absolutely NO SUBSTANCE to it in the first place.
  18. I hate to double post, but I didn't see that there were more posts. One thing that has been VERY apparent during the whole 'election fraud' circus is that NONE of the lawyers submitted ANY false documents to any actual court of law. Funny that no matter how ridiculous or utterly insane the claims are, none are made in a setting that has consequences for lying. Go figure.
  19. I'll guess that her testimony won't be 'stand alone'. It will be used to verify the testimony of others, or have other people testifying to corroborate hers. The prosecution is NOT stupid.
  20. You have to remember that Biden is incompetent and descending into dementia. While at the same time heading a powerful crime syndicate, controlling gas prices and interest rates. Or maybe the fools simply don't understand how things work. Which could it be? Which one could it possibly be?
  21. Well, they could nominate him, hold a vote and elect him (I have zero clue how 'electable" he is), then 'take care of business. Prevent the shutdown, get aid to Ukraine, hold more hearings on Hilary's e-mails & Benghazi. Then, once they get some breathing room, have Gym Jordan move to remove him. Have the Rs make history again by removing TWO speakers in the same year.
  22. What the actual fuck are you talking about?
  23. May have. Hamas is claiming that Israel did it. Israel is claiming that Hamas did it. Both are plausible.
  24. Oh there you go. Using FACTS again.
