  1. What are you talking about? You are making alot of wrong assumptions and calling them truths. Here's some truth for you. I shoot both handguns and shotguns on a regular basis. I never advocated and do not advocate banning the .50 caliber. I never posted "anyone" could make a mile shot, just that the gun is capable of it. Next time you need to tell me "some truths" change the word "truths" to BS for the sake of accuracy.
  2. I don't disagree. I was disagreeing with that previous poster who thinks the 50BMG is some sort of magical weapon that instantly turns people into super snipers that can make world-record kill shots. If that was true, then the "ninja throwing stars" that some people like to buy would instantly make them into a Ninja. My 1911 would turn me into Col. Jeff Cooper and buying a Velocity would turn you into JaMo. People's uneducated and thus unrealistic understanding of firearms in general is impressively bad! It does not, however, take any training or intelligence to get lucky. It simply takes a lot of luck. Fortunately for the US, the Secret Service and all the other LEOs involved have trained a lot of the luck out of their tactics and abilities. I noticed the barriers and figured that is what they were there for. All the BS about how easy it would be and how I figured "a neo-nazi from Wal-mart could do it" and the ".50 caliber was magic" was from you. Are you a tactical tool? Sounds like it.
  3. I think the major threat comes from someone with a .50 caliber rifle. Those are accurate over mile out and can punch through half inch steel. When Obama spoke last night did anyone notice how thick the clear barriers on either side of him were? Thick enough to stop .50 caliber would be my guess. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/01/06/60minutes/main665257.shtml [url]
