  2. Everybody needs a fallback position. If the husband doesn't work out, she still has me. If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  3. I feel all tingly inside. If John persists in this nonsense, it'll be time for a double-blind taste test. "On this side, we have Cool-Whip, Redi-Whip, Dream Whip, et al., and on the other, our panel of brave volunteers." rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. 4. But do you really think that this act simulated a man licking up his own semen after anal sex? This is the thing that snared me in this thread more than anything else. It's so bizarre, so out of the realm of what most people do... As far as I know, ordinary strip clubs cater to relatively mundane tastes--they're not going to last long if the acts they portray are so kinky as to gross out their regular clientele. There are other, specialty clubs for those with more exotic desires. I've had some interesting experiences in my life, and I read a lot. This is the first and only time I've ever heard of whipped cream being symbolic for semen. And quite honestly, I don't know too many guys who clean up after themselves with their tongues. Between this and the crack whore nonsense ... I wonder if any of the "fuddy duddies" realize that they have demonized and verbally assaulted the original poster. She does not deserve the treatment she has received at the hands of some of the posters here, merely for posing an innocent query about the experiences of others. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. 5. This poll is something of a twisted representation of an issue that arose in the "stripper" thread. If you say I've been sexually assaulted, and I don't feel sexually assaulted, have I been sexually assaulted? An underlying presumption is that we are dealing with adults, not children or incompetents. Moreover, if I am forced to have sex by a known rapist, and I like it, and he's then caught for his other crimes, can he be prosecuted for "raping" me even though I don't feel raped. Somehow, the leap from that to this poll is "should the victim of a crime be permitted to drop the charges at a whim?" IMO, the only reasonable answer to that question is no. I just have a bad feeling that the answer to the question in this poll is going to be applied to the situation in the other thread, and they are not analogous situations. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. 6. More important, this thread is not about rape. The argument about rape is several threads down. Trying to equate part of a strip club show to rape is an crazy leap of illogic. The analogy failed at the outset. Let's not give it any more credence than we already have. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  7. We're not talking about rape here. That's not likely given the facts. I'm thinking that you're out of your element. And yes, the last time I looked I was still a woman. The answer would be: If you don't enjoy the show, leave. Fact: You have responded to my posts 14 times. This is my 14th response to you. Fact: In every single thread in which I have responded to your posts, I was responding to other posts before your entre into the thread, i.e., I was posting in those threads before you got there. 8. Correct - thoughts of sex. "Thoughts of sex" is not "symbolic licking up of used semen after anal sex." rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  9. She already said she didn't feel sexually assaulted. Your opinion of what happened doesn't trump the way she feels about it. Sorry. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  10. Were you there? No. And neither were you. But you sure do have a vivid imagination about what went on and what it meant. I have this philosophy in life. There are intentions, and there are actions. Only actions count. It is not possible, ever, to know for sure what is in the mind of another. It has nothing to do with intentions. Lap dances are simulated sex. That's why men buy them. Actually, I'm in utter awe of your vivid imagination. John, I've had sex involving whipped cream. I also swallow when I give a blow job. Trust me. There's a huge difference. If you'd like me to spell it out for you, I'll be happy to. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  11. No. The weather was weird last year. The rainy season started early or something. This year it has been pretty mild, so February is probably going to be nice, and April is probably going to be awfully warm. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. 14. I guess this is supposed to simulate bukkake? Sorry. It's just that whipped cream has such a long tradition of its own in sex play, I will probably never get over what John turned it into. In the 34 years I've been sexually active, I've known some pretty adventurous guys, but I've never known one of them to intentionally lick up his own ejaculate after anal sex. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. 17. I'm sorry, Walt. The defense doesn't work because the point is that he went overboard. He can object to the act and not want his granddaughters involved. But his granddaughters weren't part of the act. And the act didn't simulate what he said it did. I don't think any of the objections to John's post have anything to do with him being a "fuddy duddy." Having personal limits is not a crime, and it's not even objectionable. The minute you impose those limits outwardly, however, it becomes something different, especially if your mind twists something very simple into very complex, but totally erroneous symbolism. I don't think that's so hard to understand. The "crack whore" nonsense and the comparison to rape were not his, but they were also over the top. And I think there are people here who owe the OP an apology. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  18. I went looking for the author of the quote, and I found this: http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Talk:Famous_last_words It's a great story. I wish it were true. If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  19. if you start it, they will answer... Too much potential for trouble. But I got this in my email this morning. It reminded me of this thread. 24. I was in a hurry. My point was, to a great extent, money not only can, but does, buy happiness. Food, shelter, clothing. For the cold, homeless and hungry, money buys a lot of happiness. Or at least, it would put a lot of people in the position of being able to determine whether they have it in them to be happy. But according to Stossel, it is a myth that "money can buy happiness." For the largest part of the world's population (and a good many people in this country), it's simply not true. He totally discounted those who are living in poverty for the purpose of making his point. Coming from a man who knows where his next meal is coming from, that's elitist. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from. Gullah Proverb
  25. Speaking as one who was a single mother with a brand new baby, taking home $181/week in 1984, and speaking as one who chose to give up a good-paying job for the opportunity to live and work on a dropzone for $7/hour in 1999, and also speaking as one who was mostly unemployed from May 2002 until February 2005, I would say that although there is happiness to be had in poverty, it is more likely when one's poverty is an election, because it comes with a choice to not be poor. When there is no choice, it is so stressful, that even the joyful moments come with a nagging feeling of unease. Early in my daughter's life, and during that period of unemployment, my life was more unhappy than you can possibly imagine, and even at that, I was lucky enough to have several fallback positions. I was never hungry, but there were a lot of times when I was very scared. If I ever win the lottery, you can count on a duck suit and a swimming pool filled with pennies, however many pennies it takes. rl If you don't know where you're going, you should know where you came from.
