I like yeyos logo Its perfect just a dude under canopy. Now when is the Dudeboogie??? Its only fair to hold on the west coast since the Dudely Lama is out here and probably doing nothing right now. PS. am I the only one who made the conection that Dudes drink and bowl; but, bowling is the sport we recomend for people who shouldn't skydive??? i only pretend to know what im doing D.S.#619 -

As tight as Richard Simmons workout suit. Yea I agree. But, his point was interesting how fall rate is based on surface area drag. Only the trip to terminal will be sped up by more wieght but being the same size will result in the same fall rate i only pretend to know what im doing D.S.#619

Recently ive come to notice I have a real problem with being real floaty. When trying to do any RW work I just cant keep up. I am 5'10" and barely 145 ( I used to be 155 but poor finances cut into my food budget) I have started flying mantis and it helps alot but if I do any FF jumps I usaly loose the group I was thinking of puting some weights on but was told they realy dont have any effect after you go terminal? thought it was an interesting statment and woundering what others thought? i only pretend to know what im doing D.S.#619

Why are rigs so damn expensive?

Brings me to think??? when will a loan company open up to just cater to the needs and expenses of extream sport goers. I could use a couple grand cash righ now for new gear and gadgets. i only pretend to know what im doing D.S.#619 -
Has basic skydiving become an obstacle?
SKYgoonie replied to Tuna-Salad's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Its kind of like back when we were 20 years old and most are friends turned 21 all ready and go to the bars and clubs. waking the next morning, all we do is hear really cool storys of the night befor. It is the rules that were not suposed to fly cam or wing suits till min. of 200 jumps. But, we all drink under age right? low jumpers like myself any more walk a thin line through the sims. We all try to push what we can get away with. Some do it better than others and it works to their advantege by further promoting their skill level a little quicker than usual. I have also seen guys follow the same path that made me a little uneasy and frankly put scared to be on the same jump run as them. Wittnessing first hand most jumpers attitude tward the low timers(both very good but mostly were just ignored) I think people should be a little nicer and encouraging. show us the right way to do things. dont wait for us to show up with $1200 cam helmets, custom rigs and matching jumpsuits before you will walk up and introduce your self. Because as we are commonly mentioned as the "now generation" if you push us aside and tell us we cant and shouldnt. there will be those who take it upon themselves to learn on their own i only pretend to know what im doing D.S.#619 -

SKYgoonie replied to Tomcat933's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
you sure like to whine alot about the cost of things dont you??? You need to slow down and understand that because yes its a realitivly small community things arnt mass produce and made in china. things are typicaly hand made and custom order. Yes you may argue thats it only nylon above your head but there is a ton of R & D that whent into that design especialy because it is your life on the line every time you jump out that door. You heard it once and i wont be the last to tell you but this is a expensive sport. collge kid or not, heck i spend my unemployment check every weekend to go jump, buy used when you can do your research ask around people are nice and will generaly try to work with you on getting the new jumpers set up with gear. i only pretend to know what im doing D.S.#619 -

As a low timer im not going to agree or disagree with the numbers being said on here about jumping but, Being in my mid 20's and no college degree I never made much money did my AFF and my coaches and plenty more after that. As I made friends we all find it fun to travle around and try out new DZ. to date I only bought a helmet, and goggles, alti, and audiable like 500 bucks. My problem is the more I jump the more I WANT to jump so I spend all my money jumping rental gear and never buying my own. Ive recently lost my job about 4 months ago and still spend half my unemployment to go jumping every month. Now am i doing the right thing? Most say no and few say "do what you love". The best advice I ever got was before I got my A and was waiting with the DZO for my check dive he told me "aply for a credit card max it out buy all your gear and worrie about paying it off later" fortunatly i never had enough credit to do that. i only pretend to know what im doing D.S.#619

Were ALL fun jumper. If your your not out having fun you shouldnt be out jumping. As for not jumping all the time, being hard up for cash is nothing new to the skydiving world. Plainly put its an expensive sport. Just do your best to get out there and stay current, Disciplines come with time too. The more you jump you will discover what you like to do the most. make friends and enjoy your time i only pretend to know what im doing D.S.#619

I was interested after reading another post but didnt want to post off topic. When people open when doing a "Mr Bill" or pulling high with another jumper holding on, Do they jump a bigger canopy or risk a blown cell with heavy wing loading? i only pretend to know what im doing D.S.#619
