1) These are high resolution. You can zoom in a lot. Did everyone see the circle on the 8-9-70 photo? Assuming it's a circle at the money find location? If so, it's farther N then we assumed? It's a little past the Fazio's house??? 2) Circle is on the 9-6-74 picture also. Zoom in a lot. Same place. 3) same place in the 9-29-79 picture. The "bump" of sand before it is gone at this time. There is no bump in the '70 picture either. Makes me thinking dredging spoil plume. Looks like the output went to two places on the WA side. There are two "bumps". 4) Was that bump that disappeared, the location of the dredging spoil plume? Think of the output of a pipeline dredge. Did it erode away from '74 to '79? 5) I was comparing the 1970 and 1974 photo, to see the effect of the dredging. The 1974 photo is from 9-6-74 Tosaw says the WA side dredging was done 10-74 on the Fazio side. The Reeder court case mentions 8-74 on the OR side. remember my photos of the pipes on pipeline dredges? Is that a pipeline dredge N of Tena Bar on the OR side of the Columbia? It's the right time period. dredging probably happened between summer and fall of 74?

The bill decomposition has 4 main effects, not evenly distributed across all bills 1) The purple front/faded back ink effect 2) The black bills 3) The edge decomposition (fragile flaking) 4) The rounding of the bills (break off of fragile flakes?) 5) damage due to separation of wet bundle into singles after find. The 1-4 effects could have happened simultaneously, or not , due to chemical/wind/water/sun action. Some of the rounding/edge breakoff could have occurred due to Ingram rinsing handling. The purple staining might have happened over the years, and not been present initially. From the photos of the bundles, we can be sure edge flaking, rounding, and some "more discolored than others" bills were present 2/12/80 I've attached another black bill photo from CBS news video snap. (modern, not 2/12/80) With the discovery of the new "2nd folder" the the FBI apparently has, and it's black bills, .the number of black bills increases, as well as total bills (plus new PCGS "assembly" of bill fragments") I was thinking "black bills" were bundle bottoms. It's possible that 4 bundles (or more) were found at Tena Bar? We have more than 3 black bills at the FBI, right? The Corbis photo doesn't immediately give an obvious idea of how those 12 bundles can be re-aligned into 3 bundles of consistent edge decomposition. If there are more than 3 bundles found, it calls into question the reliability of the rubber band description, I think. The middle black bill in the attached photo seems to be a face up bill. If so, this may say that the "blackness" is on both sides of bottom bills? Or maybe they are top bills that got darker over time? I don't think they are top bills, since the Corbis photo shows some likely tops that have increased edge decomposition. It's possible though, that the black bills were not initially so black. We don't see any black bills in the Corbis 2/12/80 shot, but then again we don't see any bundle bottoms. The one "back" bill is an obvious split with the adjacent bundle part.

I think we're doing a lot of guessing on the layers (single or multiple) created by the output of a hydraulic dredge, with input from the Columbia channel. I would think there would be two clear sediment deposits, unless this gets all mixed up on output from the dredge... 1) The sand layer from erosion in the channel 2) The clay layer from longer term buildup, underneath 1) The cutterhead on a hydraulic dredge is used to deal with 2). It can handle rock too, but doubt they encountered rock. We also don't know if a bulldozer was used to spread spoils on Tena Bar, or if the output of a pipeline dredge went there directly. We also don't know if the spoils were hoppered by a barge first and spread, or sent there solely thru a pipeline. If there was 30" of sand that arrived naturally after the clay layer, then the slope of tena bar would have been even shallower after 1974? That's hard to believe since it's so shallow that it would mean the water would have covered it? The pictures Ckret just provided, seem relatively constant in exposed beach from 70-79, although it would vary a lot with tide/runoff etc. The '79 photo seems to show Caterpillar Slough almost totally choked off, but it could be low water. I think we know very little about the dredging at Tena Bar. Those two photos Safe points to don't tell us much? Tells us there's a clay layer and a sand layer I suppose? I'm also not sure how we know there was no clay layer on the beach before the dredging? Were the beach layers sand - clay - sand? is a lower level of sand the thing that tells us the clay is from the dredging? I'm going to try to research sediment layers created by dredge spoils.

oh your first pic with the threshold control is just excellent...you can really see the small tics under the flight path. I gotta learn how to do that. If you do this on the full high resolution flight path, we can get more accurate radar ticks for up around 2008-2009-2010 also? (I noted that I think the 2009 placement is dubious) I think we can get Sluggo's tics a little more accurate. Could even then imagine running a curve fitting excel thing on them, rather than doing straight line from point to point. Might be a better approximation? rather than assuming radar "happened" to catch the centerpoint of every turn?

Yeah, like I said, they line up with what I believe are the 2018-2020 marks on the flight path...just shifted over W by 3 miles or so? (edit) The 4th seems to align with a 2021 tick that I didn't mark, but seems to be there on the flight path. When I first saw them, I was thinking predicted LZ. If they suspected Cooper jumped around there, with an East wind, that would make sense. Maybe they just guessed he might have jumped around Portland.? Or maybe it was additional radar data that was in error by some amount. This is the first time I'm thinking it's related to in-sync tics on the actual flight path. Yes it would be odd if the real flight path actually went thru the big ticks. But in my processed jpgs, you can see small tics under the real flight path. So I dunno. A mystery. A conspiracy. Who knows?

You can hear/see Tina speak, You can hear Harold Dwayne Ingram speak. You can see them shovel the loose sand at Tena Bar. These pictures are interesting as they seem to show the angle of Tena Bar very well. The sand is relatively flat. Not soaking wet...damp, but loose. Seems to be before the backhoe was brought in..notice they don't have the deep trenches yet.

Following georger's image processing lead, I tried playing with the flight path (hi res) in the PDX area to see if I could tease out the radar ticks better. I settled on splitting out into 4 component color layers, and using the magenta layer. It seems to me that Sluggo may have missed one tick crossing the Columbia. The first attachment shows the processed picture, without any added dots and also with dots (blue) that I've added. When you look at where the dots are, in the plain picture, you should be able to see the faint radar ticks (crosses) also, you can see the hand drawn flight path changing direction at those points. I also included as a 2nd attachment, the same area/size in the orig hi res scan from Ckret. I couldn't put it on the same image because of size limitations, and I wanted to keep some resolution. I think what's interesting here, is that 305 seemed to slow down significantly as it crossed the Columbia. Possibly because of nearness to PDX. The probability of a Columbia or Hayden Island landing probably is related to ground area they occupy, but also plane speed..slower means it's over an area longer. Sluggo didn't show 2019 and 2020, and I'm suggesting a new 2018 placement here. (along with 2019 and 2020 ticks) See what you think... (edit) Actually, those 3 big ticks off to the W seem to align to where I believe the 2018-2020 ticks are? I wonder if they were misdrawn horizontally initially? or something like that. (and not erased).

I've been looking thru all available video for more money shots. Even though they are really bad, it's better than nothing. These are from the 2nd KOIN segment where those guys accused Mayfield (again). I think it aired approx May 14, 2007. First three show the green table with bundles from the side. (2/12/80) The last two are very interesting. Shows there are 3 sets of FBI bills. There are two folders. And a 3rd set in plastic bag. This is a more recent photo. Here's what's new: -It appears there is at least one more black bill in the 2nd folder. Could be two, although the logo is blocking the view. -You can see the total count of bills the FBI has. -Evidently there is something special about the bills in the plastic baggie. So we'll call those "The Secret Bills" My Count is: 4 (bag) 10-12(new folder) 11-12 (old folder) The previous number we had from brian's article, was 13 or 14 at the FBI. This picture shows there is maybe double that? I'm very intriqued by the new black bills. The new folder bills look sufficiently different that I don't think the video was doctored in any way. I'm also intrigued about "why" some bills were plastic bagged at the time of this photo shoot. (not sure when). (edit) added another "full money" snap without a logo, although the camera was not fully zoomed out, so all bills not visible.

I've been meaning to comment on Sluggo's timeline. He didn't say how he created it, but I suspect he stretched and fitted the high resolution flight path map to align to highways and other features in GE and got lat/long that way? I did that also, and got slightly different locations for the stick points. But most not too different. One in particular, though, seems way off to me. The one at 20:09. I think it's too far South? Also note that from 20:15 to 20:18, it's hard to see any of the red tic marks. I believe it's reasonable to estimate that the ticks are at the places where the hand drawn line changes direction, especially if it makes sense in terms of estimated speed. Which is what Sluggo appears to have done? We should also remember the flight path could curve in between any 2 points. Straight line isn't guaranteed. Given what we know about speeds, it's hard to believe there's much curving between points, because the plane wasn't going fast enough for the distances. I was especially wondering about a curve between 20:15 and 20:16 So we should remember that there is some error introduced by Sluggo's marks also..So there's the initial radar error, the 1971 transposition error to the map, and Sluggo error. (however small)

I was surprised at the reference to stainless steel for parachute hardware, as I would have thought it too brittle for life-sustaining use. Maybe it's used in modern times..but looking at Poynter, it seems like the NB-6 probably had some kind of alloy steel, cadmium plated for corrosion? stamped or forged. skydivers might chime in here...but I think maybe stainless hardware for the 1971 era NB-6 isn't right? Would the steel have been some kind of cro-moly like 4340? cadmium plated? 4340 would rust without plating. Poynter also mentions alternate phosphate coating for corrosion.

REPLY> Its simply depth of field due to F-number of the photo lens used. Front of image is in focus - back is not. Photo taken at f1.2-f4.0. attached brings out more line detail. BTW the red violet thread in the previous money photo is because bills at that time had red, blue, red-violet curly thread segments in them, which makes sense. Used to ID real vrs fake money. If you look at other bills you will see more blue and red-violet thread segments. amazing..I think you may be right. I looked at the KOMO snaps above again, and the line is faintly visible in photo 5...Look for yourself.

did some research on "walkie-talkie" circa 1971 Probably would have been called handi-talkies from the Motorola lingo. Motorola HT-200 and HT-220 available then (200 introduced in 1962, 220 introduced in 1969). Photos attached. Gives idea of relative size that would be required for components of that era? but they would have been VHF FM probably? That antenna looks like a cheapo AM radio antenna The last picture is a good one of the 220. The HT-220 Slimline made PC World's list of the 50 greatest gadgets of the last 50 years in 2005. First portable radio to use ICs rather than discrete transistors. Weighed only 22 oz. (look at the antenna) (edit) added a more recently taken photo of an HT-200 ..surprisingly they had the cheapo antenna! but sluggo can compare to his snaps. This pic has the case over the HT.

I was perplexed about the white line in the 2/12/80 corbis bundle photo. I had always thought that it was a line on the table, and couldn't understand it. The line wasn't in the previous single green table photo we had. Now that we have more snaps of the green table, a comparison of the snaps, to the corbis photo, seems to show that the "line" is a scratch or something on the corbis photo. Note that the "line" doesn't extend the full length of the table..which also makes me think scratch or hair or something on the photo (maybe when they were scanning the photo?) The layout of the bundles matches exactly. So it's the same day/photo shoot. It must be a scratch/hair. Photo attached again for comparison to above snaps

The money on the green FBI table, from 2/12/80 is shown quickly in the KOMO video Sluggo references. That table is in the small photo I referenced before, about color bundle photos. I'm going to snap some frames from that video. (edit) attached. Note that you can see the full table, and my previous sleuthing is verified, I believe. Note. All information about "The Green Table" is for L clearance only. (4, 5 and 6 provide another fuzzy angled view of "The Shifted Bundle") (edit) In the first photo, someone is standing there with a red-brown jacket on. This is the same color as Flo's stew uniform, and the supposed color of the "sticks". I don't know what that means, if anything.

Here's the plot A long time poster to the DZ.com thread finally tracks DB down to a small fishing village on an island off the coast of Alaska. He makes his way there, and gets to talking with D.B. Eventually a plan gets hatched to top 1971. Hijack the space shuttle. The ransom? 8 kg of plutonium. Sluggo_monster is tapped to do the delivery, in a Soyuz rocket. Three thousand FBI agents are deployed to intercept the shuttle on landing. But you got it: Our hero bails from the shuttle at 30 miles up. Nothing is ever found, except some irradiated Big Mac wrappers at a McDonalds 15 miles from the predicted landing zone. A new thread is started at DZ.com "There's no way he had any McDonald's experience" they say. Little did they know about that long summer during high school.

picture one is cooper reliving the good old aviation days (in the attic) picture two is cooper driving his big rig in British Columbia. He had to switch to lights in his later years. Hey, do you think Cooper collected the Raleigh Coupons and redeemed any? Probably not. Be funny if Raleigh had an address on him at the time. I remember as a kid finding a purse full of raleigh coupons at the dump. I even sent away for the catalog and ordered some stuff.

I don't follow this. I've been looking at pictures of naked skydivers on youtube, and based on what we've discussed about the temps and probable LZ, I'm thinking Cooper could have done the jump naked. What are the numbers people are using to say a naked jump wouldn't be survivable? If naked is survivable, I think that clears up a lot of these hypothermia theories? I don't quite follow this line of reasoning - a naked jump is naked for maybe 4-5 mins total of freefall and canopy time (less for those jumping hot dog canopies). Then you land, get into the hangar and put your clothes on. Not the same as being outside and possibly lost or hung up on a tree or floating through the river or or or....{whatever} for a good while, if not the whole night, (possibly for the rest of his life) thereafter. plus happy's extract of the wiki hypothermia article. Might I also remind the forum (I think we spoke about this at some stage) of the guy who died of hypothermia after a successful BASE jump not that long ago. And I seem to recall reading about a long ago incident where a couple of guys landed in a lake, one survived because of what he was wearing, the other died of exposure/hypothermia IIRC - and we are not talking about all that long to rescue the guys (i may have some of the facts of this case wrong, if so can one of the older jumpers please correct me) I guess I'm being a little tongue in cheek on purpose, to swing the pendulum the other way, and actually think about the real conditions. I guess my point is that clothing (good or bad) wouldn't have impeded the ability to pull the rip and get to the ground. If Cooper had jumped in Antartica with that clothing, then it might be more believable that the conditions inhibited his ability to deploy. I was reading about snow/rain jumps. I didn't know that Charles Lindbergh survived 4 emergency parachute jumps from planes with problems. Two were into snow and rain, one of those at night (he flew a lot delivering mail). this is very nice stuff sluggo. thanks. What's odd is that it seems to say that if the Columbia rose 8' from where you measured it, that it would flood to Lower River Rd.? I guess all in all, it's saying you don't need much extra water to get it fairly high up on the beach (cause the beach is so shallow angle, as you point out) So we shouldn't have to worry about getting "extreme flood waters" to get the bag deposited by water at the find site?

You don't believe he was just 10 miles from PDX? (edit) some data from a canadian study on frostnip risk: (temps are C). See attached graph also. Researchers found that there is a very clear threshold for tolerance of human skin to cold exposure. Most volunteers did not develop frostnip for wind chill index values between 0 and -27, during the 45 minute trial. However, once the wind chill fell below -27, the risk of frostbite increased exponentially. At a wind chill index of -40, all the volunteers developed frostnip within 10 minutes. At -55, all of the volunteers developed a frostnip in under 2 minutes. (edit) effect of this 2001 study: Until 2001, the Canadian and U.S. weather agencies (Environment Canada and the NWS, or National Weather Service) used an index devised in 1945 to calculate windchill. This is the Siple-Passel Index. In the late 1990s, the Canadian and American authorities decided it would be appropriate to revisit the windchill formula. A working group from Canada and the U.S.A. investigated how cold wind really feels, and decided the old formula needed updating. In 2001, a new index was clinically tested with (brave) human volunteers. The result of all the work was a new formula, now in use.

uh yeah, just like anything we say about the bills. We have no science on the bills, just some photos. there's lots of questions/theories on the bills 1) the fading of the ink on "some" backs 2) the purple stains on the front of "some" ..seems to connect with/relate to 1) 3) the black bills 4) the apparent rust stain? or whatever it is 5) what appears to me as a "shifted" bundle (individual bills shifted from an aligned bundle..possibly after some decomposition, or before. 6) the leach stains on the FBI folder 7) the apparent insect holes 8) Did the Ingrams rinse the bills before drying? Did that handling remove delicate flaking edges? By the time of the 2/12/80 FBI display, there didn't appear to be any sand. ..yet these were wet bundles found in dryish sand? 9) one or two bundles display the flaking edges in the 2/12/80 photos. Most are rounded with no flaking edges. Is that from 8) or is it from other movement or full decomposition or ?? Yes we have no data and no science. I don't think anyone does, not even FBI. I suspect the FBI data is just "bills in the folder". They must have the color photos of the bundles on 2/12/80 like I've shown. But for some reason releasing that isn't helpful. I think Ckret is still holding onto a plant theory. For instance he doesn't release info that would confirm the dredge is "no way". The size of the dredge pipe and cutterhead for instance, or details on where the output pipe went and how much bulldozing there was. Maybe the FBI has no data on that either.

yeah, but now we're so close to Vancouver, that a tributary story is probably a "money bag came off" and cooper survived story? Cause I think it's harder to hide the body in the smaller tributaries near Vancouver (or their nearby shores?)

at 20:17, there's probably enough forward throw for a no-pull to have Cooper in the Columbia. And if you subtract the apparent error minute, that's 20:16 I think the data suggesting LZ sooner before the Columbia is pretty weak and shouldn't override the more likely Columbia LZ (based on the money) Also, since Columbia/PDX area is an easier visual spot, compared to LZ before that, it makes sense? Assuming Cooper is not a skydiver, the increased risk of drowning might not have registered.

Can Ckret tell us the history on this "transcript"? A very unusual choice of words indeed. If transcript is accurate, there must be a clue here. I looked it up again. It's on the first page of the 99 page transcript we first got. In the TTY log it says "WANTS MONEY IN NEGOTBL AMERICAN CURRNCY DENONMINATION OF BILLS NOT IMPORATANT" [sic] So it's actually more interesting. Why would he call out "AMERICAN" currency? isn't that bizarre? I wonder if maybe Cooper really was Canadian. It was raining up past Calgary. Or closer to Seattle but in Canada: Vancouver BC, or over on Vancouver Island? (There's a ferry that gets you to WA)

This phrase is in the transcripts. Did Cooper really say it? It's an odd phrase. We've got off on tangents about phraseology that might be aviation related. But we should examine everything he said. Why would he say "negotiable currency"...An out-of-work aviation engineer would say that? I suppose $20, $50, and $100 are all "negotiable" ...so what kind of "non-negotiable" currency could he have been specifying not to get? Was he just trying to say he didn't want $100's? or what?
