I can honestly say that no matter what time of day, he is there... There have been a few days when I felt like I had been gutted and stoned, yet he stopped what he was doing to be a dear friend. He was there with an open ear, a compassionate heart, and enough silliness to get me over the blues. I rarely let people in, and I trust him. I sometimes feel guilty, and hope I've been as good a friend to him as he is to me.

HA! I was involved with a guy who is (now) 47, but it felt more like he was my big brother / or a father figure... for a good romp it's cool, but on a relationship level it gets to a point where you are dealing on different levels (want's, needs, etc.).

That sucks! People can be such rude bastards My neighbors growing up were/are deaf (their children weren't), I used to feel bad because people in the neighborhood wouldn't even try to communicate with them. It's truly sad when people let their fear rule their actions. Oh, and the kids took advantage of the situation and lied like crazy when they would get into trouble. I was always very intrigued... had them teach me how to sign (basic), explain to me how they enjoyed music, how they knew when the kids were ill, etc. etc. The technology involved in communication is amazing. I never had the opportunity to use the relay with them, but it's very cool!
