You track away from jump run as if on a tracking jump even though its not a tracking jump. The biggest fear is that someone who cant really maintain " on level" in a head down zooms through the formation like it is a tracking jump.

Yes and other than one FF jump with Guano and two wingsuit jumps with wingsuit comrads I was on most of the atmonauti jumps 30 + when the weather allowed. Is Benji an englishman? I was pestering an englishmen from Empuria about info on the soulflyers DVD, could be him.

Happened a few years ago at Perris. The Pilot that felt the impact told me the story. Military jump practice out of tailgate. If they told us more they would have to kill us.
-
Ouch! I heard of this happening to an equiptment loaded military FF SOG jumper practicing out of Perris's van. The Pilot felt the impact. But your description is even more horrific!

I'm sorry Katie, Chuck can't skydive year around in germany but he would fit in perfectly ( I think ) with the DZ scene in a lot of the western european countries. He would just need something for the winter season. Would this be a long tour? I was personaly hoping , as many others, you guys would be out Huachuca way.

Uh Glen... I know that you're kidding, but I have taken both an Airspeed tunnel and one FF tunnel camp. I feel that working on belly skills, esp. doing 4-way like Clownburner (wow!) in the tunnel....can be REALLY strenuous on your body. Quote I'm not kidding but I know what you are referring too though. I get tired by my second minute in the tunnel on my belly. But the simple fact of the matter is that while the FF artists and the hopefuls that are average height and under 150 ( and especially sub100 pounders this includes all of those on teams, the vast majority of the coaches and the guards) can rip it in the tunnel those of us that weigh in over 170 , and god bless the poor 200+ pound FF, MUST have our stuff out more. Like WAY OUT to make FF work in the slower tunnel speeds. In the sky a little relaxing means we just freak fly faster for our body type. In the tunnel it just means that the big guys die while their feet are still on the ground while we jealously watch the little people frolic. On the plus side we tend to get a lot of back flying practice in. Alchemy said the tunnel is humbling. I just wish that I would have been humbled in the air and not on the mesh. Little people get your freak on!

Duh! I'm slow today I guess. Hypoxia from the tunnel. Thats dirtpoxia foo...

Reminds me of once in the military about 20 of us had to give the squadron vice commander and first shirt, in a formal inquiry, an explaination of what we saw and who was involved with one girl from another squadron (right )outside the barracks ( behind some bushes, on the grass). We were all already under house arrest for previous unforgivable infractions. They where worried about a major chunk of their guys getting charged with rape. I was responsible for most of the guys and was outside myself ( not involved directly ). Tried to use big words to describe an all hands ten person Blow job, couldn't even find the words to describe the following gangbang. All the while the Officers and the NCOs were trying to hold back from laughing so hard... A lot like the scene in the movie Porkys with the principle, the coaches and the female coach wanting a pecker line up. Actually thanks to our former prez all the legal terms should be figured out for use in court. It will be smoothe unless beavis and butthead are on the jury.

Getting a Neptune, need a recommend & some ??s...
VectorBoy replied to SkydiveNFlorida's topic in Gear and Rigging
I regularly fly birdman with my protrac and have only had one messed up logging. I stuck my head way out of the plane to watch a hop& pop exit, say for about fifteen seconds and it registered an 8 second delay sky dive. I mostly leave it set in slow mode for BM jumps and don't change it to FF mode when I do those and it seems to work fine logging the fast stuff when set to slow mode. I will wait for the birdman specific neptune even though I mostly want one for its better readings under canopy. Any word on the specific abilities of the bird-man neptune over the regular one? -
No worse than the Quiznos rodents with bulging eyes rockin out with electric guitars......oooooh appetizing.

The Airforce will do that to you. You should have joined the marines.... then you could feel like you are in prison.
-
Sore? Sore from belly flyin the tunnel? You wimp! Try a sit in the tunnel. No try just holding your hands out to your sides with your feet still on the mesh waiting to do a sit in the tunnel and then get back to us on sore in the tunnel. Man some people.

Some funny thoughts about riggers and booze after a reserve ride
VectorBoy replied to CanuckInUSA's topic in The Bonfire
My rigger only wants coffee after a save......hmmmm suspect. -
If you think you are that tuff you can wax me Jeanne!

Wow, I'm impressed Lisa. Coming from you I thought this was gonna be about Bonehead helmets. But everybody has to eat, good on you!
-
Or how about a nice used camera helmet with, 35mm still and a pc video cam in an attached D-box?
-
How tight you roll your tail has great deal of influence on your canopy's opening. How well you control your canopy during the entire packing procedure will limit control line creep during your pack and reduce chances of a line-over.
-
would you Sue the canopy manufacturer
VectorBoy replied to Tinkerbelle's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
No I would just get a smaller pilot chute or learn to pack. But can you imagine what kind of injuries your neck would have if it didn't open? -
Well, I still concur. Sharky you ignorant slut........at Perris you can git nakkey in the pool at Elsinore you can only get nakkey in the bushes. I don't recommend exposed flesh in the actual lake at elsinore. I'm no prude this is for health reasons.
-
Only if they are shareing a needle on the ride to altitude. Which reminds me, I'll need my needles tommorrow at the DZ where are they now?
-
How often do you get scared skydiving?
VectorBoy replied to drakeshelby's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I get scared anytime anybody on the DZ wants to implement some kind of canopy size police force that could have a monetary effect on the cost of jumps. I get scared when the price of jumps go up for any reason really. -
Re: [Martini] Opening High for Bad Spots
VectorBoy replied to Hooknswoop's topic in Safety and Training
Ask for a go-around? Sometimes you can, sometimes you can't as in the extreme jumprun example that I describe in my first post to this tread relating to Extreme winds aloft. Try asking for a go around at WFFC or some major boogies. Some places talking to the pilot is verbotten ( to explain why you want a go around ). If the spot is good and the pilot can proove it there may be no go- around, you always have the option to ride down. -
Its a shallower angle than a flock, its steeper than tracking. In these flight positions your bodys profile looks pretty straight from head to toe. If I had to describe atmonauti I would say that your upper body is in a head down. Your arms ( and legs ) are out to maintain your "on level" with the rest of the group. Then your lower body is arched down, this maintains your angle of flight. set by the leader of the group. From the side it looks like your body is in an arch. Its more pronounced than the curve of a body in a efficient flat track. It is a unique feeling and has to be experienced.
