    I turned 50 and have done some amazing things in those 50 years! I also got another granddaughter this year...makes three grandchildren by blood and one granddaughter through my boyfriend.

    I believe they had that policy when my son was in at least t-ball. He hates sports and sucked very badly at them. But back then, maybe those trophies were one of the best things that happened to the kids that sucked? I agree that a trophy/medal properly earned is a great self esteem builder. Unfortunately, a lot of parents don't encourage their children to be "better people" and don't support any efforts towards performing outstanding achievements, though. And if you don't start learning to go that extra step to achieve extraordinary accomplishments when you're growing up, you don't normally try to do so as you grow older.     Yeah...you're sort of right. I think that no matter what it's called, the whole purpose is to help someone feel good about themselves and their efforts/achievements, though.

    I am 50 years old and I still think fondly of things I did even back in high school. While those things you won your trophies for might not be the most important things in your life now, they were important to you then. And helped to make you the great person you are now. Good job on earning them.
