Military is hiring. Call your recruiter. Plus they can help with your loans..... good ruck.....

That's incorrect about not being able to become a fighter pilot with this particular trait. It's not even a consideration during flight screening physicals.... sorry....urban myth time.

17 when I joined the Air Force. I guess I wanted to see what was out there. Plus, the AF had the best food!! (Of course my first 2 years I was stationed on an Army post! and I've visited my share of Navy bases, so I was able to make accurate observations of there chow (jus kiddin)). I served 22 yrs, 4 months and 8 days...Retired..... and now enjoying the heck outta Uncle Sam sending me a check on the 1st of every month (for the rest of my life!). There's some incentive...... P.S. Loved every freakin minute of it and would do it over if I could... Buck

I left work at 3 to go to play golf... F-16's were making orbits down toward Texas City. At first I thought they were just shooting high overhead patterns at Ellington Field (I work next door to it), but that definitely wasn't the case. They were overhead ORBITING.....
-
BTW, can you say what happened to her? Both wrists? Sending her good vibes.....
-
I was watching all the EMS helos flying in and out plus ALL the F-16's that were overhead during the afternoon. It was eerie. I'm only about 15 air miles from the site..... My girlfriends school she teaches at in Galveston was rocked by the blast.

I'm sure there are a couple people on these boards that are currently working towards their licensing. Maybe they will chime in. Additionally, websites worth visiting are www.faa.gov or www.avweb.com. Tons of material you can devour there.

Check with your university. They may have a flight training program. Other avenues: contact your nearest airport and check out their flight trng programs. Not sure if you wanted to go this way, but the U.S. Army is in dire need of helicopter pilots. Maybe the vision requirements will be met during your physical with them. You can usually cross-over to a fixed wing after a few years flying rotorcraft. good luck.....
