We aren't likely to imply this for a few reasons. Most sites that do offer a wanted forum do so because of the lack of a proper classifieds system that caters for it, where as we have that. We also have a tier system in place on the classifieds which allows us to pay the bills, by offering special features in ad visibility to paying link users or to premium members. An idea which we should look into though, is adding the ability in the classifieds to sort through items depending on whether it's a 'for sale' or 'wanted' ad.

That works fine, thanks. Can I ask whether you also left out the reserve information? Manufacturer, type, jumps etc? When you submitted yours? Because that area is blank on the page you gave, and when I copy/pasted everything from your ad into a new ad, it submitted perfectly. Which leads me to believe that if you're getting an error and you filled out the information about the reserve there... The error must lie in that information. If this is the case, can you please write down the values that you used in the reserve area. Otherwise I see no reason why it shouldn't submit when you use the information listed there, as it seemed to go through fine. Cheers

This is very unusual, that information is displayed by a check which looks whether you're a paid user, and if you are - it displays the text. The check is simple and just looked for the "paid_status" field. Problem being that while it sees everyone else correctly and issues the ad layout accordingly, for some reason it sees you as a paid member, even though you're not. I did some testing with a simple yes/no query with the same result. I will look into why it could possibly be doing this.

This should now be fixed.

Hi, We're still working at getting this issue sorted, and the more information users who experience the issue provide us with, the quicker we can sort it out, since whenever we test with our own ads we don't encounter the error. If you could please attach to this thread (or email us at support@dropzone.com) a screen of the submission form once it's filled out, so we can see all the data that you've entered in to the ad before it's submitted. And if you are trying to submit a photo to the ad, can you please include that photo as well, so we can rule out file type conflicts.

The following scam has been reported: Click here to read more about these kind of scams. Remember: DO NOT do business with anyone who offers to send you payment for a higher amount than your selling price with the understanding that you'll send back the balance. Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be acting on behalf of a "client" or another "customer". Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be from Nigeria or West Africa If you agree to accept a check payment, then do not send anything, gear or "change" before the check cleared. And be careful, if you manage to clear a fraudulent check then you may be liable for the damages if the bank finds out later. Make sure your bank authenticates the check. If it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is. This username has been disabled.

I've changed it for you manually. I have also fixed the problem that was causing this, so you should be able to modify it yourself successfully next time.

This is something we will look into, it may also be related to some of the errors the classifieds are giving. What was the price you were planning to change it to? In the mean time I will adjust it for you from the back end. It's displaying 800 on the site and in the backend at present.

As mentioned above, could you please post a screenshot of the form before submitting as well as the image you're trying to submit with the ad, or e-mail them to support@dropzone.com, will allow us to do some tests with the exact data you're trying to submit and see where the problem lies.

We've managed to locate another issue that causes this error... Currently we're aware of two things that can cause the internal error message upon submission of an ad. One being if an image is submitted that is too large (over 300k) The second being, if you are submitting an item that has no jumps on it, and yet you try and enter the number 0. There is a problem that occurs when the database tries to write this value of 0 for some reason. Leaving that field blank if there are 0 jumps on the item should get you around that error. We will work at fixing both these issues.

We're currently trying to see what exactly is breaking it this time again. If anyone encounters this error, it would help us greatly in resolving the issue if you could then fill out the fields in the form as they were when you last submitted the ad and it gave an error - but take a screenshot of the fields filled out and send it to us. You can either attach it in this thread or e-mail it to support@dropzone.com and also state which browser you are using. From there we can try and establish what the common element is that is causing it to break and work on fixing it.

There is no way of viewing what queries have been sent to sellers at this stage unfortunately.
-
Can you please post a link to one of your ads that are doing this here so that I can take a look into it.
-
This is going to be quite difficult to test and to find out which ad is causing it, if one is... I will speak to the ad hosts to see if they perhaps know where it's coming from.

Just arrived back from Christmas vacation, hence the delay. But the article should now be fixed.

I really failed to see why this caused such a big uproar... Since when does moral sensitivity come above journalism, and one cannot split hairs and say that one has to be a journalist by profession for it to be okay, while if you're not then for some reason the actions are different in consequence. I don't see any CNN journalists dropping their cameras to go and help the wounded during bomb attacks, and one won't because why should one be obligated to risk their own life for another. That's entirely up to him... Furthermore, the image in itself is completely tame in contrast to the images you see on the TV every day of war. What, because there aren't hundreds of other people dying around him, it makes his death different? Some of the most awarded and praised photographs in history have been taken just prior to death, when the photographer knew full well what was happening. I really can't understand why this is different... The photographer gets given hell for pressing a button, yet the other bystanders who never rushed in are all excused because they weren't holding a camera? The whole situation just doesn't make sense... The photographer did nothing wrong, and I'm pretty sure it's something he feels horrible about witnessing, and yet his willingness to have the image posted is not in any way a bad thing, it's a perfect display of mortality and the fact that so many people are upset about it, means that as a journalist and photographer, he has succeeded... He has made people think...

This post aims to bring to light some of the new scammer tactics being used when selling gear. There have been a few reported cases over the past week of users selling gear but after the payment is made, the gear item is not sent. These scams are difficult to pick out when you do not know what to look for, especially since some of these have reviewed the skydiving 'lingo', if they are not skydivers themselves. The key thing to look out for is the request for paypal payment to be sent as a gift, without any comments. The reason that they do this is because paypal has a policy in place where if the money is sent as a gift item, they do not do a reversal of the transaction should you dispute it. As always we urge users to take precaution when using online classifieds and to where possible, acquire and confirm the sellers USPA # or connect with their home DZO to confirm their legitimacy, this is especially true in larger transactions.

I've changed it so that the image displayed when you click on the image is larger than before.

We've resolved the issue.
-
Thanks for posting, this is due to our server upgrade which was done earlier on today. Will work at getting this sorted.
-
Are you still getting these wrong e-mail templates? (In the past 16 hours). I was aware that the problem existed over the weekend, but I worked on them yesterday morning and they should have been fixed then.

This issue should now be resolved.
