    My mother felt the same way about 20 years ago. So we didn't own a TV. Personally, I don't think it's the governments job to be our moral compass. People who (for the most part) lie for a living are going to force their moral beliefs on us and the world? Bad idea. Actually, just a stupid idea. I don't think it was a coincidence we had the marriage protection act as the only state issue to vote on here in ohio. I think it was a brilliant move. One of Bush's people even said they had started 'courting' pastors around here as long as 2 years ago. I honestly believe it's one of the reasons Bush won this state. Keep me safe, keep the country in good economic shape, help the poor... but don't tell me what's right and wrong. it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality

    Actually, these days it seems to be kept more by assured destruction. I think all we've accomplished by going into Iraq this time is doing away with that threat.     There's an option in there somewhere (at least on the Pro version) to do a startup scan - I'd try that too. "Hijack This" should get rid of most of the crap too. it's like incest - you're substituting convenience for quality

    Hijack This has always done a great job for me - just have it delete anything that looks 'weird' Make sure your virus defs are up to date and running too. Don't you have a router between your computer and the DSL line? EDIT: Does the version of Ad-Adaware you have come with the Ad-Watch program?
