  1. Despite lurking for absolute yonks, I appear to have missed the British saying America should give up their guns. Be a dear and link a thread or two that illustrates that, would you? Wasn't it the French that beat the British in the end? With the help of the Spanish and Dutch, of course.
  2. Whilst I have a lifestyle that is as environmentally friendly as I can make it (I was bought up a hippy, so it was easy enough to achieve ) I do feel that individuals can only do so much and without organisations/corporations becoming more involved in environmental issues, the impact will be negligible. So, I guess recycling etc. is only one part of being green and encouraging better practices in all walks of life is essential if we are to improve the current environmental condition. Examples of this could be only buying products that are recyclable from companies whose carbon footprint is deliberately small, voting for political parties who have a green agenda, etc. etc. Errr....anyway...
  3. The key word is "may". And it proves false, as there are numerous international comparisons, which go both ways. There is no correlation... So why not use other countries as examples instead of continually pointing the finger at the UK? Oh, that's right, because the UK is at the cutting edge of any legal trend.... Ding ding ding! There you go. You finally got it. All of that was even hinted at strongly in the initial news story, but in all the puffery over national pride, no one could be bothered to recognize it. I'm glad that you managed to notice this true cause of gun crime. The key word is culture. Correct. A culture that has largely been imported from America. So much for the UK setting trends... Just a thought from a long term lurker...
