  1. Wow. Has anyone here ever seen an episode of Family Guy. I bet some of you would go apeshit over some of their jokes (and yes they are just jokes funny to some not to others). But in all fairness they make fun of everyone rednecks, cripples, blacks blonds, women, jews...etc the list is endless. Muff #5048
  2. It's one of those things where the one who issues it to you writes it out for far more than it should be and expects you to send them the difference. Then when it bounces at your bank you are the one thats out a shitload of money. Muff #5048
  3. Wow. Yeah I was kind of thinking that comfort of both parties would be a pretty big issue. And the comments about chopping that high and losing several thousand dollars worth of gear is another interesting point. Thanks guys. This is just something Ive never really given any thought about before now. Muff #5048
  4. Cross Country. The plane goes all the way up but puts you out several miles upwind of the dz and you pull really high and fly the canopy back to the dz. Only about 10sec of freefall but well into 7-10min of canopy ride. Muff #5048
  5. So its a slow day today and I was thinking about the freeflock boogie coming up and how there will be xc jumps. My question is would it be feasable for a tandem to do a xc jump? Would it be too uncomfortable? Would you want more $$ since you're extending the passengers experience? Any thoughts? Muff #5048
  6. Yeah at our dz its 50% up front. then the order is made and you can pay as you go until it gets there or you can pay one lump sum when it gets there. Either way once you've put dow 50% on anything more than $1000 its pretty damn hard to walk away from that knowing you'll not get your $500 back. I think its a good incentive. Also at one of the dz's I jump at if you order gear they let you use the rental stuff for free until it gets there (even more incentive imo). Muff #5048
  7. Thats kind of a perk about being military. Not only are we 'allowed' to have them, but they actually give them to us (mine is a Benchmade auto). Muff #5048
  8. Holy shit Spot!!! Its so good to hear from you. I was out jumping today and wondering how you were doing the entire time at the dz. I hate that you're in pain but it will eventually pass. Im just glad you're still with us. Have a speedy (but safe) recovery and our next jump togeather will be on me.
  9. Thats true. Like when you forget to bring sunscreen you can bet it will be so blistering hot that you end up looking like a lobster. Or on the flip side if you only bring a blanket, shorts and t-shirts you can bet that it will get so cold at night that you seriously entertain the idea of sleeping in the running car. Muff #5048
  10. I believe his hypothesis is that increasing minimum wage will motivate more of those folks to get jobs.
  11. He's been in movies too. Muff #5048
  12. Nothing a well placed .40 S&W round cant take care of. Muff #5048
  13. I think you got that a little bacckwards. It is, in fact, YOU who rock! Congrats man.
  14. I wouldnt jump any canopy in this configuration. Muff #5048
  15. Calling Skyride's procedures a "business plan" is a lot like calling a pocket full of roofies a "dating strategy" Thank you for that. Best laugh Ive had today and its only 0815. Muff #5048
  16. Mornin' everyone. Though I rarely drink coffee I decided to jump on the morning coffee thread with my 100oz mug of energy drink. Pretty soon I'll look like this-----> Muff #5048
  17. Spot, you consume my thoughts. It's so hard to hear about this. IYou have been a great mentor in my camera flying. Hope you get well soon so you can fly with me again. Muff #5048
  18. But think about how much you can give to the poor jobless mother and her children in welfare support. You would also have a hell of a lot of money to start up a nationalized healthcare system.
  19. what would a sensible min wage be, exactly? The British one is 5.73L/hr. Roughly 9$/hr, just a tad higher than most states. Looks like it is now 7.60 in London. Though higher than the US national standard, it's hardly a living wage when the cost of living of that city is considered. i agree - it needs to be raised here as well to a more sensible level. the benefit of a national health service for all also has to be added into the mix. What is a "more sensible level"? And, do you realize that healthcare is not a RIGHT? It's a service much like an auto repair shop. If you dont have insurance or the money to fix the problem then you better be damn good at fixing it yourself. Just my 2c. do hospitals in your country have the RIGHT to turn you away if you are ill? (and do cars have souls) Nope but they DO have the right to shut down. (and do people have souls) Ive never seen a soul. Have you? Muff #5048
