Have you tried the palmer cants for your board?(they are old school) They work great to give a little more angle and lift for the bigger guys. Also custom foot beds can help. I have used both. You'll notice a big difference and they take the pressure off. here is a linkhttp://www.alpinecarving.com/binding_setup.html I don't have a problem with my supermodel...it floats like a dream. The backleg cramps were on my old freestyle 155, which sucked in the powder. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

It's the truth this woman speaks. As a bigger guy myself, I'd go with the higher end of her scales...the 158 will work just fine as a dedicated park board, but get a foot off the groomed and his back leg will be cramping trying to float it. The 163 sounds pretty good for all-purpose riding and decent maneuverability in the park. And no, he can't have my Supermodel 168. I love her (even though I've been neglecting her lately). No kidding. I was pretty sure we were in the process of repeating this one, minus any sort of reserve horseshoe. My inability to make any substantial progress at all on the linetwists for 2000' was beyond frustrating...I can't really describe the feeling of futility. I'm glad my student was well-behaved during the whole thing. The *first* words out of his mouth after we finally got straightened out were "thank you for saving my life." I think mine were "whew!""sonofabitch!" Two jumps later, the beer was quite tasty. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

Oh brother I hear ya there. They was this thing when I got around 26-26 and that was called PAIN. And that PAIN would stay around for days instead on minutes. I couldnt take the beating any more. It was a lot of fun while it lasted. Exactly. I just can't take the punishment like I used to, especially with the recovery being SOOOO much longer. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" At 5"11 240lbs I highly doubt he is hangin out at the half pipe. Age is what drove me out of the pipe, not weight. If this kid is a teenager, it seems to me that he's more likely in the park than in the trees. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

Body position was not a factor. I broke 3 lines just below the cascades and the slack ends dropped onto me (felt like a slider hitting the top of my head). Canopy was behaving erratically enough that I didn't realize the broken lines were on me loosely until I chopped and the "loosely" status changed to "tightly" on their way past my neck. Between the way the main was mal-ing and the drag of the lines on me, the reserve opened with at least a dozen twists in it. The stall/surge nature of a tandem reserve with brakes stowed increased the twists to nearly the stabilizers. A stalling/surging/spinning reserve is a motherfucker to fight...every kick a quarter turn in the right direction earned me a full turn in the wrong direction on the stall/surge. I threw everything I had at it for a couple thousand feet, paused to catch my breath and try to think of any other technique I'd ever heard of, realized my bag of tricks was empty and this was likely going to end badly, and then figured I might as well keep working it into the ground. A few seconds later I finally made my first positive progress and then went shit-house crazy building on it. Ended up with a nice stand-up in the landing area, which was much better than the arrival I was beginning to believe was inevitable. And thanks...I'm kinda glad I'm not dead too. What kind of riding does he do? Is he hanging in the park all day, cruizing the groomed runs, or playing in the trees? Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

:11:0 Like our other regulars that have posted here, I was enjoying our last weekend with our Caravan. Did 10 tandems and one sunset 8-way. Also had a very unpleasant reserve ride and learned that "pineapple" is not the universal safe-word it's cracked up to be...no matter how many times you yell it, it won't unfuck a canopy that's trying to kill you. I just got home from an unusually "interesting" weekend at the dropzone. I logged in to dz.com solely to open this thread for the express purpose of finding out how long it took someone to say that. I see that the answer to my question is 37 posts, and I can now log off pleasantly surprised. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

Without clicking the link, I feel obliged to remind you which party it was fucking the dog from 2001 through 2006 and thereby setting the table for a rebound in the opposite direction. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew) -
In reality, calling the major Presidential candidates and the key Congressional leaders should be sufficient. In jest, I'd prefer Bush call Palin to discuss this...we wouldn't hear from either of them again for weeks. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew)

What's the breakdown of GOP versus Dem seats (contestable seats) in the midterm election? The Democrats hit their recent high water mark of 57 in 1992, which would be 3 6 year terms later in 2010, but those aren't Senators that are highly vunerable. There are 34 seats up for grabs in 2010. Of them, 19 are currently held by Republicans (McCain's seat is one of them) and 15 are held by Democrats. I'm not sure how important it is, but Arizona, Delaware, and Illinois all currently have Democratic governors. So regardless of who wins this Presidential election, any replacement will likely have a (D) after his name. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" (drink Mountain Dew) -
Nowhere. I was just letting your exact quote stand there out of context, and then deliberately distorting what you meant by it. Blues, Dave Oh I get it. Rather than dispute Ayers, a known Obama associate, is dispicable, you try to deflect by arguing his comment is being taken out of context by the GOP. But yeah forget the fact the WUO's strategy was the bombing of political targets and 'more' would have meant more bombings....yeah nevermind that. I think it's entirely likely that Ayers actions nearly 40 years ago were despicable. I also understand that he's not been convicted of anything and that he's been trying to do some good for children over the last decade or so. I've not seen that he's more than tangentially associated with Obama. I do think it matters when statements are misrepresented. Blues, Dave What does a conviction matter when he admitted to his involvement? What difference does it make when he readily admits no regret? You know....giving Obama a pass is one thing but this guy? Come on bro.... He has also denied doing any of the bombing at other times. In any case, I think he was probably involved to one extent or another. I'm glad he didn't kill anyone and that he seems to have turned to more constructive methods for trying to change things, but he doesn't seem like someone I'd want to meet or be friends with. The facts that he runs in the same political circle as Obama and that they both worked on the same board trying to raise money for improving education matters very little to me. People do understand that efficient cities and businesses issue use long-term debt to fund projects that make improvements or increase profit in the long run, right? There is such a thing as "good debt". In fact, it's a great way for cities to raise money without taxes and is usually a pretty solid investment for people who buy it. No, that's not saying that it's good to always and only borrow for everything. Please note she also increased spending by 127% in six years. Blues, Dave "I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!"
