    I've got my ballot at home. I know which way I'm voting for president, governor, congressman, and state senator, but I haven't filled it out yet because I want to do some homework first on some of the other local/state races.     Someone else made the same point to me in PM. I saw a guy a couple months ago turning tandems at an altitude I considered dangerously low, but for the most part it's just not something I see up around this part of the country. I frequently use a stall/surge on landing, and sometimes a moderate toggle turn (more like a sashay), but I don't see any reason to hook it and neither do any of the other TI's I know.     I've heard of exactly one tandem incident involving a low turn. Unless there's a rash of injuries going on somewhere that I'm not aware of, it seems you're looking for a cure to a problem that doesn't exist.     I'm sure it's not...to the people who said Kerry's $1,000 haircut meant he wasn't a "man of the people" or who referred to Edwards as "Breck Girl" for his $400 haircuts. Come to think of it, I also seem to remember a big fuss in here about a certain US senator marrying into a fortune and having a bunch of houses as a result...except that was about Kerry, not McCain.     Fixed it for you. A basic tenet of democracy is that government is of the people and for the people. If the people don't vote, than it is not of the people and is unlikely to be for the people. More voters will provide a better picture of the will of the people than fewer voters. I also would like people to be more informed, but that's something measured in degrees and I wouldn't want to institute any sort of measuring stick that must be attained in order to vote. If someone wants to vote all (D) or all (R), that's not ideal, but it's still ok. Those informed enough to vote the issues rather than the parties will likely swing the vote except on particularly contentious measures/races in which reasonable minds can disagree.     Fantastic series I've read the first 4 (game, xenocite, speaker, children) 5 or 6 times. I read Enders Game when I was in highschool. A fantastic book. Hated the ending though. I've read Speaker for the Dead, Xenocide, Children of the Mind, and Shadow of the Hegemon, in that order.     Pink Pony with lots of friends to buy all your shots and dances. I'm hitting the same milestone this year, but mine's on a Wednesday.     Kind of like Obama and campaign finance reform that I've heard brought up again within the last few days. I'm suprised more has not been made of this seeing as I see Obama comercials 10-1 as compaired to McCain, but when it's special intrests paying the tab, I guess that is easy to do.
