Hi We got the bad news from our vet last week, for one of our chocolate labs that we rescued when he was a yr old. We've had him 7 yrs . No symptoms just took the hounds in for their rabies shot. We asked the vet about a small tumor that we found on his neck. Turned out to be one of those bad tumors, on the thyroid gland. The dog should live until 14 all we needed was 6 more yrs So we agreed to a ultrasound and Xray. To see if the tumor was operable. No joy The tumor had already attached itself to the blood veins so it's inoperable. We were shocked the dog weighs 120 lbs has a little grey on his mussel and is still acting like a puppy with lots of energy and enjoys eating. At least we can spoil him even more than before, for the time he has left, however long that is. The vet was real busy, didn't have to much time to explain what was going on but at least we got Google. Hopefully we found out soon enough that the bad stuff won't start for 3months to as long as 3 yrs.So we can still enjoy him everyday he is with us. As soon as things get bad we will not make our buddy suffer one extra day. Since we're not jumping anymore maybe we will do the ash thing, over Mt Ranier or off the end of the ferry into Puget sound, or in the woods where we take the hounds for walks or all three.

Some people used to consider 100 jumps per yr a minimum to be current. Why not tell the dude howmuch a packing class is, a canopy flying course will cost. Tunnel time, coach for this and that. Hi Jerry Being a engineer was ok, but we were able to graduate without debt, thanks to my rich uncle. I don't know if its worth paying the big bucks these days for the privilege of being a engr. Otoh if I was going to go to the big school for something. I think being a M.D. would be worth the effort. A letter from a M.D. goes a long way

That has got to hurt! I had the pleasure of at least 3 kidney stones all on different occasions. The first-time was a bitch because it hurts so bad, you don't a clue what broke, and you think your going to die. When the second stone hits we know it's another stone, it will pass, and we, re not going to die on the spot. No big , drink plenty of water, and run up and down the stairs.

hahaha... Kids today....sheesh... while i certainly DO enjoy having a hobby which can also be enjoyed by Women...i never have relied on that "ice -breaker " aspect of it. Hi P5 Just got a call from the vet at 8 A.M. One of our dogs had a biopsy yesterday, due to a lump found during a routine exam. The results were due back today. When the Dr calls with the test results, instead of the nurse That means it's going to hurt. At least we have Google to help us figure out what a Thyroid tumor is. So far our Vet of 15 yrs is going by the book.

+1 40 yrs ago got a owee on my ankle from jumping in high winds. Jumped the next weekend and unknowingly favored the bad ankle and broke the ankle and fib on the good leg. Instead of waiting a week or two for the original owee to heal I had to wait a couple of month's for the broken leg to heal. R One Jump Wonder
