i no for sure i want to do AFF but being the age i am (17 but im 18 on the 22nd of this month) right now im having to shell out money left right and centre and only having a weekend job makes it hard to stash the cash for the full course. If i can get the money though it will be done this year.

i did a tandem there in april 2007 with andy page, it was out of the nomad. i dont know if they still have it. i think the guy who filmed the jumps name was stuart murtha. I am looking at possibly doing an AFF jump there again soon like within the next month

i cant say i would know properly lol but having read on here for so long now ive picked up on the different rigs and canopies people use i didnt mean to cause any concern or anthing by asking it was purley curiosity
-
ive been lurking on here since i did a tandem their 2 years ago and am looking to do an AFF jump, i was just wondering what the rigs were
-
Hey does anybody know what rigs and parachutes are used by students at UK parachuting in Norfolk, UK? (sorry if this should be in gear and rigging)

Hey, i made my first jump on April 12th 2007 at around 1pm. The jump was a tandem and definetly the best experience of my life. I knew from the moment i got back down i would have to go again and a few weeks ago me and a fiend started collecting money at school for a charity jump. what i cant decide is that now we have all the money and are ready to book should i do a tandem again or go for the AFF 1. 90% of me is saying go for AFF1 but the fear is pushing me away from it. I want to feel what its like to open the chute myself, i want to know what the sense of achivement is like after opening and flying back down safely a parachute myself but the fear of being alone up there with nobody to fix a problem but me is making it hard to chose. should i overcome the fear and go for it or just become another person who does tandems but never goes the full way?

How the actions of one person affect so many
Kiakambala replied to Kiakambala's topic in The Bonfire
Today will officialy go down as one of the hardest days of my life. I spent the day watching over 200 friends mourining someone because of the actions of another. Never have i seen so many people so devastated. -
How the actions of one person affect so many
Kiakambala replied to Kiakambala's topic in The Bonfire
Today i learnt that a person in school was on life support after a car crash. I am not here to talk about the incident or any of the deatils but to say one thing. How many of you think of how your actions afect others? Do you ever stop to think that maybe it could affect hundrerds of people? Changing there lives in just a split second? Have you ever wondered what your world would be like if you were gone? how would they react? what ever you imagined is wrong becasue death is like the ocean its deep and dark and bigger than all of us. and the pain it brings is like a theif in the night. Quiet. Persistant. Unfair. Diminished by time and love. I did not really knwo this person we just spoke a few times at school yet i can see how there absence has affected those around them. In a sense its amazing to see how far a person reaches, just how many do you know you right now? life is full of what ifs.... But right now all i know for sure is that forever more i will think how the actions of one person affect so many others. The switch is off now and that person is gone but their memory will live on in the hearts of there friends and family but also in the mind of the person who in one split second destroyed not only one life but affected hundreds. -

Can anyone describe the feelings they have during freefall. I.e. what the freefall actually feels like to you, what it is about it you like so much etc? Sorry if this seems stupid i am just curious as everyone feels and takes things in differently.

What Made You Start Skydiving?
Kiakambala replied to Kiakambala's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Hey i was just wondering what it was that actually made all of you begin jumping? It would just be interesting to find out different peoples reasons etc. -
So say i find a way to do this how would i go about things
-
is there anyway you could do it tandem?
-
Hey ok i no this is really random but does anyone no if it would be possible to do a hop and pop into my school prom. there are no large obstacles nearby and there is a large grass area that could be landed on. is this just a stupid idea or could it work? i am being serious if anyone knows anything please tell me!

Hey i made a tandem jump recently and i decided on the dropzone as A) it was the nearest to me B) i have a friend who jumped there and said they were good and finally they have a cheap day. on thursdays it is only £125 for a tandem jump compared to £185. i think that is what finally swayed me towards them
-
hey im 16 and recently completed a tandem skydive and i have to say it truly was the best thing i have ever one! I really want to progress and undertake an AFF course and get qualified. i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice as to weather to just keep this as a hobby or as a real job as i particularly want to learn to b a free fall cameraman. Is it feasible to actually make a career out of this or just leave it as something to do on the weekend. Also when they are filming scenes for a new tv commercial or for parts of a film containing skydiving how do they film it? like do they have a set freefall cameraman of there own or do they use camera men from a nearby drop zone?
