  3. Anyone interested in jumping the big way formation loads needs to register with Chris or at http://www.texasstaterecord.com. Click on "Application Form" and after completing the form, select the boogie. This will help Guy Wright and the other organizers plan the big way jumps. Blue skies, Jim
  4. Doesn't everyone carry their out-landing kit? Mine is in my jumpsuit pocket and contains a closing loop, rubber bands, pull-up cord, $5 bill and 2 quarters. Who knows when you might have to pack after landing off the dz, pay for a ride or need a drink, make a call? If I do a cross country, I also include my cell phone. Blue skies, Jim
  5. Seems like many are posting more recent pics. I like the old me better! Blue skies, Jim

    Back problems?

Summer before last I had a similar problem with numbness from below the knee to top of my foot. My skydiving MD sent me to Dr Doctor (no kidding that is his last name) who gave me something similar to an epidural. It was in injection of pain med directly on the nerve at the herniation, and then bathing the nerve with some type of steroid. Pain went away instantly and never came back. The theory is that the nerve is constantly inflamed because back movement and the herniation, but once the pain is gone the back and nerve can relax and shrink back to normal size. One month later the PT started and lasted 4 months. My back never felt better. If I would stretch and exercise regularly I could probably get rid of the dull pain I get sometimes when I am tired or do to many jumps on a weekend. Blue skies, Jim
  7. Jennifer sent this message and asked that it be published: Just wanted to take a moment to let all of you know about our local event here April 9-10, 2005. We are having JumpForTheCause Official Tryouts here at Gold Coast, Carol Clay is the lead organizer. I am the co-organizer and handle all of the paperwork. All registration forms come to me. I will attach the form and an event letter with the hope that you can pass it along to some of the women in your area that may want to participate. We will have a great time! The Pink Mafia will also be having a boogie that weekend and I have talked Jim Jenkins into organizing the "boyz way" that weekend. I will also be holding a raffle ticket sale starting in March with the drawing on April 9. Prizes thus far include: 30% off Big Air Sports Parachute, compliments of Brian Germain, 35% racer container and 35% off a new AngelFire reserve, both compliments of Nancy LaRiviera. Tickets will be sold for $5 each or 3 for $10. I am working on adding more prizes so that we can have a lot of winners! The registration form and tryout information is found at http://www.texasstaterecord.com. Forms for this event may also be found on the JFTC Website at http://www.jumpforthecause.com. For more information about the Pink Mafia, please visit their website at http://www.thePinkMafia.com. thank you

Hey I know who Max is and I'm a belly flyer! Actually, Max offered to do a hybrid with me and another jumper from Spaceland when we visited the Ranch with less than 100 jumps. Everything went off as planned, got free video and free flying from Trent, the Punisher and others I can't remember. One of my favorite jumps. Thanks Max! Blue skies, Jim
  12. Happy birthday Gary. See you in August! Blue skies, Jim
  13. Ummhhh...if I were you I would hide from Aggie Dave if he sees that comment. He's maroon through and through! Blue skies, Jim
  14. Trent called from NY and said "I just did a tandem and it was the greatest thing! You've got to try this." "No", I said "I'm to old." "To late I already bought you a tandem at Skydive USA for next weekend when I'm back in Houston." "I'm not sure I want to do it." "But you said you always wanted to!" "When?" "When you joined the army as infantry airborne." "It was 1967 and I was 19 and stupid then!" "Well, you have to do it. I charged it on my credit card already and there are no refunds." "Ok" Blue skies, Jim

  20. And they were some great times to Mac!!! I have a lot of friends who are extremely liberal. We don't agree on most political issues, but there are many things we do agree upon. Friendship is more important than politics anyday! I enjoy jumping with them and hope they always enjoy jumping with me. Blue skies, Jim

  22. I was having problems once because of my weight belt. I asked for a supervisor who said I couldn't carry it on. So I asked for her supervisor, who walked over picked up the weight belt and said, "It's just a weight belt, he can carry it on." Sometimes you just have to get to the right person. Blue skies, Jim
  23. Guess you've still got a lot more to learn. Blue skies, Jim
  24. And the organization revoke the "ladies" tickets because they found the t-shirts objectional at their private event. But they did and they were asked to leave. They are very naive or they are lying. Either way they were out! But they didn't ask ahead of time either. They were out. Again you did not address my point professor. Private event, private property... Blue skies, Jim
  25. Are you implying that Clinton, Carter, Johnson and Kennedy never used Air Force One on campaign trips? Wow! And all this time I throught we were just being screwed by all of them! Blue skies, Jim
