Porter missing in the UK // reward//
blindfreddy replied to piisfish's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Turns out I know the owner of the porter, had a chat to him yesterday, commercial pilot who bought the porter spent heaps of coin doing the plane up setting it up for para opps then to lease it & have some dickhead pull it apart & steal it, you have to be kidding me!! Someone from the mother land must know something about this or know the area where it was taken. Come on guys let's get this plane back to the rightful owner & kick the crap out of the guy who did it. -
Whats your wing loading ? I have had three crossfires & the only one that was twitchy was the one I was loading @ about 2 - 2.1 ... sold it & went slightly bigger problem solved
-
Thanks for the effort councilman much appreciated
-
i haven't bought one yet for 2 main reasons;1- I'm hearing 50/50 reports on the openings really nice versus tearing a new one & the second thing is that i've contacted a few dealers & no one wants to give me a price or return e-mails.I'm in australia & it must be all too hard. what i'm aiming for is a 104 loaded @ 2.2 so i want it to have nice openings

The canopy is rated to 250 lb & 150 knots & was manufactured in 1996 assembled, stuck in a cupboard & never seen again till last week WHAT THE...?
-

My wife is the packer & has been for 20 years but she's never seen anything like this. I recall someone mentioning in a thread somewhere that they dont have pilot chutes but this one is in a paracushion 303 with a pilot chute & the spider slider is very funky I'll see if i can upload some photo's

I also would like to thank L&B for outstanding service,I had an optima 1 that after regular use, starting cracking frome being inside the helmet.E-mailed L&B they replied within 24 hours saying send it over.I did but within a week & a half there was a brand new one on my doorstep in Australia.no way on earth they recieved my broken one before they sent the new one. Kudos to you guys L&B

Yeah ive read that sizing chart & i would have liked something a little more accurate ( no offence UPT). I wouldn't have thought that this would be to hard.I've sent e-mails to Icarus x 2 ...no response !!!

So it looks like the Neos packs up about 1 1/2 sizes bigger than non crossbrace? maybe neos 104 similar to Katana 120? Yes/no ?
-
So... then... it packs up nearly the same? But then the MX will take an Xaos 98 @ optimal sizing so it must pack up nearer that dont you think?
-
Well thats interesting " a manufacturer that doesn't know or maybe care how big there canopies are'? Thanks for the size estimates, not flying one yet, looking at downsizing from Katana 120 & fitting it in a Icon I3.Hows the openings on yours & what windload you at? Is it a good slider system?
-
does anyone know whether Icarus have published pack volumes for the Neos?, I cant find any info. After volumes for the 104 & 109 Cheers
-
is the sort of thing you were after? I know its not european http://www.cookiecomposites.com/shop/helmetaccessories/38/index.htm

I flew a CF2 @ just over 2.1 but I think it was outside the optimum envelope because front riser pressure was intense & good swoop was hard to achieve, openings hunted big time & dived radically for the ground in the opening sequence Yee Haa ARE WE HAVING FUN YET ?????

Just starting to "swoop"...advice?
blindfreddy replied to Kynan1's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Hi,i'm not wanting to put a damper on this conversation but I watched a friend cream in doing a 90o from 250-300 ft on a katana 135 loaded at 1.3, he's now in a coma. I start my 90's from around 600 ft loaded at 1.65. Be careful dude ... take advice from people that are experienced & know how to teach the skills that you need. -
my head is 58 cm & i went for the large & it fits well awesome camera setup as well

Does anyone in the US have a deepseed jumpsuit?
blindfreddy replied to VTmotoMike08's topic in Gear and Rigging
I've had a Deepseed inverter freefly suit for about six months & it rocks good fit, well made looks great & well priced & was delivered on time, can't ask for more that that ! Jumpers at my DZ have looked at the qualiy of mine & are snapping them up. Their camera jackets & swoop shorts are also great wouldn't hesitate to reccomend to anyone. Very personalised service My 2 cents[ sly] -

Admittidly i'm in australia but I have ordered 2 x CF2's off NZ aerosports custom colours & had them on my door step in 4 weeks, with the strong US dollar it might be worth a thought.
