Hmmm, seems that there is a VERY similar thread over on our side of the house, posted around the same time. Wonder if it is the same person, or if it is a thief? At least have a name that it transferable... Link For The Lazy /dev/man/climber

Oh young climber... It's not the rope that saves your ass. Without a belayer the rope will continue to reel out, thus leading to your demise. Belayer.... what saves your ass, hopefully, when you fall. /dev/man/climber

To the OP: Bad form cross polinating a thread in the manner that you did from one site to another. Just bad. To everyone else: Suck it! She's one of us now... Seriously, though. I never was thrilled jumping. Climbing has more to offer. Plus like lisa said, you get a good workout. /dev/man/climber

Love the list... only they're called freesoloists and while ballsey some of them are the most respected climbers. It's a totally different mental game going high with no rope. BASE jumpers are asking for the Grim to give them an handshake. But it looks cool!! /dev/man/climber

None the less... You still reach the ground every time. Not all climbers make it to the top every time. /dev/man/climber

but how much money would it take for you to be a catcher You'd have to bring that one up with his goat. /dev/man/climber

"Is skydiving difficult? I'm just curious; has anyone who ever jumped out of an airplane ever failed to reach the ground?" ~curt (rc.com) You guys need to get off of your eletist thrones. /dev/man/climber

I'm telling you. Duct tape, It's like the force. It has a light side and a dark side and it holds the universe together. Only you obviously didn't use duct tape.... /dev/man/climber

Guys, I would never tell you to contradict the bosses here, but as far as I'm concerned, troll away. It's sport. sometimes the troll will win, sometime he'll lose. But if you go in with a thick skin and a mischevious streak, you'll do fine. The "I heart Skydiving" thread is great. As for the person who stated that "after seeing how n00bs are treated " she will save her beginner climber questions for people here, I apologize. You should not feel that way. Please don't let the loudmouths scare you, (Myself included sometimes). Beginner questions posted in community will draw flamethrowers, but for 90% of the flamers it's a litmus test to see what you're made off. Bring your Nomex underwear and have at it. If you want legitmate answers, make sure you ask in the Beginners or general forum. They are modded more tightly to be "n00b" friendly. But there is a lifetime of good information available on that site, including speaking personally with some of the guys who literally wrote the books. Furthermore, I offer myself as a personal contact. I have no official stnding on RC.com, I am not even CLOSE to the most experienced or knowledgable, and I am myself sometime aggresive, but if you want to PM me I promise to take your questions seriously and help put you in touch with the best people to help you. Finally, if you lurkers think anything you've read over there in the "campground" or S&C in the last is harsh, you should good the internet and find an archived copy of the old site. Your canopies would be torched in a half a heartbeat by that stuff if you think anything in the last 72 hours is harsh. Dood, don't tell them EVERYTHING. There are some things that they need to find out on their own... /dev/man/climber
