  1. Thank you all for your input. Once I get off work I'm going to give it a shot.
  2. When I detach my main canopy from my container in order to sell it, do I keep my: - Deployment Bag - Pilot Chute and Bridal - Toggles - Risers ????? Also, is it difficult to detach any of this stuff? It seems like it should be pretty easy. I've got slinks attached to a Silhouette 190 and a Mirage G4.1 container.
  3. I recommend tunnel time. I am in a similar situation. I'm still working on my belly skills and am by no means am I very good at 4-way dives yet. I did some tunnel time and the confines of the tunnel as well as the coach you have in there helped me realize how I was reacting in the sky. Tunnel time helped me learn to be more stable, react to level control better, and have a reference for what I was doing in the sky (not that I was completely lost, but the tunnel showed just how much I move around without thinking about it). Try to save $100-$300 for it, get it taped and review it. Also, you and your friend sound a lot like my friend and me. Work on your exits together, that is where so many jumps for me have gone wrong. If you start messed up, its hard to get back to a good skydive.
  4. Thanks for the advice. I'm going to elect to take whatever coaching and training I can get in the next two months and then see what the coach has to say. I appreciate the advice from everyone.
  5. I haven't been skydiving regularly for about two years, however that is all about to change. I'm planning on buying gear soon so I can start jumping regularly again. I've been looking at buying a new container which will fit a 190 main, yet when I talk to staff at gear stores I have heard remarks stating that I'll get bored/outgrow a 190 pretty quickly. Their advice is to get a container built for a 170 and "grow into it." Is this safe? What have y'all done when getting gear? Is there much of a difference with the 170 vs. the 190? My out the plane weight is about 175 + or - 5 pounds. I have about 70 jumps, but in the last year I've jumped once. I plan on renting gear for about 10-15 jumps or as long as it takes to get comfortable again before I start jumping my own gear.
  6. I am currently at a Military Academy in New York and haven't made a skydive since last March. I want to make a skydive in October when I come home. What do I have to do as far as recurrency jumps go? Also does anyone know how much they generally cost?
