Packing for the big move.

I think the mentality is different in FL because the dropzones never shut down like they do up north. A lot of DZs up North do a sort of pre-season kick-off with a Safety Day, but they often hold it a couple weeks later in the Spring to adjust for the weather. That's what we do up here. Which is why I'm missing safety day this year. The farm had it this weekend, my home DZ isn't having it till the 28th and I'm moving from here to Atlanta this Wednesday. Oh well. Next year I'll hit up a safety day.

We had a minor incident at my dz this past summer. I'm an EMT-B, and I work for the local ambulance service (the one that would respond to any calls at the dz). One of the crews came out to watch one day. (In uniform, with the ambulance. They said they were bored.) They weren't even there 5 minutes and we had our 1 and only injury of the season. Fortunately my DZO knew that I was not only an EMT but ran with that service so me being down there was not a problem. In fact the crew had me pull the truck down since I knew the terrain (where they landed it's kinda tough to get an ambulance to). It was nice because I was able to act as a liaison between what the crew wanted to do and what the staff at the DZ wanted to do.

So in the midst of packing up my apartment I'm getting rid of alot of stuff. Such as my VCR. I mean honestly, who still watches VHS tapes? Only problem, the video of my first tandem is on VHS. Is there any way to get it converted to DVD for cheap or free? Is there anyone in Atlanta who can hook me up once I get down there? Thanks.

I'll be going back and forth between my parents in Canton and my brother and his family in Alpharetta. It'll all depend on who lives closer to where I'm working and how is annoying me less that week. My parents and one brother and his family live in Atlanta. I was having a tough time finding a job in Florida and I figured the job market in Atlanta is much larger. So for now at least until I get back on my feet I'll be in Atlanta. I may or may not continue down to Florida in the future. Just have to wait and see what happens.

I'm bouncing off the walls right now. As of about an hour ago I'll be moving to Atlanta THIS WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!!!! I've been trying for a few months now to get moved. And it's finally happening. I can't wait. I don't think I'm going to get ANY sleep tonight. There's just WAY too much that needs done in the next few days. But I can't wait to get down there.

Oh; I'm sure someone saved it. Well that person needs to share with those of us who were working.
