First, you should always attempt to pull all handles in proper order during a malfunction. Second, if you don't use an RSL and have a malfunction in a wingsuit and decide to unzip your arm wings then make sure you have a handle in each hand as there have been occurrences of handles being covered by wings resulting in ... bad times. PS: I just wanted to put this here because I've read it in other places where RSLs were being discussed. IF YOU HAVE AN RSL, DO NOT TRY TO BEAT IT! "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

When you state "the zipper completely unzipped itself and opened up" do you mean the entire zipper or part of the zipper. It's not uncommon for part of the zipper to open up during opening when you transition to sitting in the saddle. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

Videos That Demonstrate The Best Wingsuit Glide Ratios
Butters replied to Jamesmap2's topic in Wing Suit Flying
I don't mind solos. However, people always ask how long I fell or how far I flew after a solo and I have to tell them not long and not far because I spend my solos pretending to be on a roller coaster twisting, turning, tumbling, diving, flaring, ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch -
Guys, guys, guys ... you just need to think about it. Physically we're different than birds but we both use the same physics so we just need to change the physics we use and we can fly like birds. It's so simple, I said we would do it years ago, we're almost doing it. Sure, you call them hang gliders now but all you have to do is call them wing suits and then I'm right. I'm almost right. I know what I'm talking about, I'm a genius and I read about the subject on the internet. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

All of you don't understand. Maybe it's your English. Maybe it's my English. The aspect ratio has increased. Just like I said. Actually, it hasn't increased much. In fact, compared to some older versions it's decreased. It doesn't matter, it's not what I was referring to when I mentioned I was right. I'm right. I'm a genius. All of you don't understand me because I'm a genius and you're not. So you'll just have to trust me, they're adding extensions and increasing aspect ratio just like I said would happen ... Guess what, they're doing what I said to do years ago ... they're adding wings between the arms and legs. I told you so. I told everyone so. Wait, what? They were already doing that. No. It's different, this is different. Trust me, I'm a genius. Sure I've never done it but I've read and watched stuff on the subject. They're definitely doing something new, something I said to do years ago. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

... was nothing more than flipping the coin. Democrats and Republicans hold 99.6% of the positions. Executive: Democrats 2. Senate: Democrats 51, Republicans 45, Independents 2. House: Democrats 191, Republicans 231. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

When writing the navigation software I also started writing performance software. What I learned is that you can read the location as often as you want but if the distance between your measurements doesn't exceed the margin of error by a certain amount then the performance feedback is suspect ... So we'll have new wingsuiters fixated on a screen instead of ... well, everything else. "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

I think, in regards to feedback, that sound is better than sight. When people start looking at their feedback instead of other flyers (or terrain) accidents are going to happen ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

I don't think I agree about wingsuiters. Why should they care where the RW and FF folks exit. They must be piss poor wingsuiters. As a wingsuiter, the "spot" will still be good even if everyone takes a little extra time in the door ... heck, I encourage people to take extra time in the door so I can get some more distance to work with. So why would they shout "Go go go"? I think you agree with me and misread what I wrote. I think you misread what I wrote since I didn't agree or disagree with you. I just stated that if a wingsuiter is rushing people in the door then they are probably a piss poor wingsuiter ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

As I've tried to tell the new guys around here, Stilettos and Crossfires are not good choices for wingsuit canopies ... will they listen, doubtful. Hopefully they at least continue to pull high(er). "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

In regards to ratings (and possibly achievements), they should change it to distance instead of time. Then it doesn't matter if you fall fast or slow ... "That looks dangerous." Leopold Stotch

He's referring to the comment made by the Red Bull Stratos announcer that Felix was going to have 5 minutes, 30 seconds of freefall time, which "would have set the freefall record", when we all know Medusa holds the record with 9 minutes and 6 seconds of free fall time from 37,000 feet. well I personally do not really think of wingsuit flight as freefall. I guess if you count glider flight freefall then he didnt break the world record. Most people probably count glider flight semantically as something different than freefall. As mentioned previously, wing suits are a new area and thus a grey area. Choose your vocabulary, choose your semantics, make an opinion ... then go back to flying. "That looks dangerous."
