  1. I'm cool with whatever!!! I'll bring some "blue water" too! Been killing a bottle of that tonight. When I signed on it said it was 19 degree's back north.......blah! What day you heading down?
  2. Well.......I dooo like those English guys.... No I went home last week and found something in my basement amongst the 6 boxes I had down there. Something I know he enjoys.....It's revolutionary.... PS!!!!! I've heard "Swoopie" 82 TIMES TONIGHT!!!!!! NO MORE UNTIL TMR!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Definately! What is your poison for cigar? I will bring one for ya and smoke with ya for sure! I have 2 A Fuente's and 2 Macanudo's in hand as I trype......or type that is....
  4. Yeah, I missed you at both of your x-keys trips this year. I was off to my brothers wedding or some other mistake. We'll have to have a cigar and big black can night!

  6. Good job Banana!! I was in c-bus last week and was surprised to find out you can't smoke anywhere there anymore! I'm scrambling to find a Jager machine for the Dublin boogie. Although I like jello shots, nothing replaces the sound of that jager coming out at 28 degree's...... bzzzzssszzzzssszt
  7. Mark and I had the grill fired up tonight!!( had to call everybody back in Ohio to let them know what we were doing tonight...) Marvin was out today and it looks like he is bringing the fish for our blackened grouper that is on the menu for Sat.......
  8. Oh.....it was "just" half of the first group(normally the largest). And Crutch, you haven't been around long enough to tell what is inland and what is at sea . "Most" is not an acceptable number for a boogie such as this.
  9. First off, I hope the 2 people that hurt themselves will fully recover. But, after reading the article and hearing that this jumper BARELY had 100 jumps I became a little angry. I can't believe that they were allowed to jump into a space that wasn't even as big as a open field demo from what I heard.(sim 7-1... open field demo min 500,000 sq feet landing area, can't pass over spectators lower than 250 ft, can't land within 100 ft of spectators,MUST HAVE A C LICENSE) And it sounds like the landing area was closer to a Lv 1 or Lv 2 demo with NO outs.(a beach full of people is NOT an true out for an inexperienced person) That starts to become tight for a caravan load.(let alone a casa that has a screaming jumprun) Now granted the BSR's are "recommendations", I don't want to discuss FAR's and AC 91-45C here because I don't know who reads these threads. Maybe a conversation with Crosskeys(Wildwood Boogie) Sebastian or Aerohio(Keys Boogies) would have made things go a little smoother. Dropping a couple loads of your friends who you know are capable is MUCH different than advertising a boogie this size. Looks like there will be no skydiving in Marco for a while and the next guy is going to have a hell of a time convincing the city that this can be safe and benificial to skydivers and the city. It sounds like several skydivers just hung there for the weekend, so I guess it was still good for the hotels and local business. It's just a shame that so many jumpers spent so much money NOT to get to do what they came for. Now that some of the details are coming out about the accidents(2 the first couple hours) i really can't blame the city like I did in earlier posts. I guess this site(marco) is burned now..
  10. So the city asked for $500,000 worth of insurance.(which I don't think ANY skydiving business can get for a boogie can they?) Did Bob find it and THEN the city pulled the plug, or did he not get the insurance and the city pulled? Either way it sounds like the city screwed them. **update** just got a phone call from somebody there. I guess somebody broke an ankle and had another in the powerlines on the first day. I have had the "pleasure" of dealing with city officials at another boogie that isn't held at a "normal" dz. We as skydivers really have to treat these things with kid gloves. That means making SURE every skydiver there is CURRENT AND CAPABLE of the landing area. We are going to find ourselves like base jumpers in that city officials won't allow us anywhere because of skydivers reputations. We had to jump through some hoops a couple weeks ago at a boogie because of a group of skydivers that were there a couple months before us. I just hate to see us not be able to jump at these awesome locations because city officials are tired of incidents... Glad to hear things moved nearby!! Way to move things on the fly greensburg!!!
  11. Did he have permission from the city officials? I had heard that one plane owner wouldn't fly there because of a question about the permits and FAA. The beach doesn't belong to the hotels....it belongs to the city. What happened? Political BS from city officials? Did somebody get hurt?...that sucks!
  12. Hey alana! Looks like I might run into you at the dublin boogie...We just got done with the keys boogie and i might help the carbone's there!
  13. I'm back in marathon now. I'll probably help scotty and tami set up then ?? There's a group down south and one in Miami getting current right now. We are all pretty much meeting up tmr at the coconut cay during the day. I'll have my cell if were not around art....we won't be too far away!
  14. Probably nothing you haven't seen before!! A couple of us checked out Woody's last night.(Big D*ck and the Extenders show) Fun place...maybe we can hit it up on Fri or Sat night. It's only 30 min from Marathon. We'll be in Key West the next 3 days to scope out some trouble around there if we dare to go down. I know Smiley has a connection as far as valet service there! **Update on winter thesis** We are currently going through approx. 7-8 bottles of Corona per lime. At this rate were looking at around 96 bottles to deplete our reserve of limes. However, we have discovered through experimenting that for every lime consumed, we are encountering some overhead with the need to buy aspirin. Maybe being down here this long was a bad idea.......yeah right! We had a blast scoping for tandems yesterday. Ran into about 7 people who had mutual friends of ours. 2 of them were ex-girlfriends of jumpers.(I can't wait to see them and share stories I heard!) See you all in Two days!!! Best quote so far: "Come down, you can't dance on top of the toilets!" Coolest hang out/food: No-name bar. They have about 10,000 1dollar bills as wallpaper.
  15. HEY STEPH!!! I thought is was Friday.... kinda cold down here...highs only 68 today. But it's supposed to be back over 80 by the weekend! Jean...I figured Art was up to no good....that's alright I have something planned for him down here...
  16. Just tell the doc we have a VERY IMPORTANT scientific study going on that you must attend.... My winter thesis: If one were to pick a 12-pack of limes, how many bottles of Corona would one have to consume to deplete the said limes.
  17. Hey Tami!! A couple of us are trying to go deep sea fishing at the end of next week. Could we work a big fish feast in with one of your yummy dinners??
  18. Uhh...well.....what was that movie made 2 miles south of here....True Lies. I envision a scene from that movie. The whole nuclear flash and people blinded for miles and miles!! Well, I DO have over a week to waste(err work) down here, maybe I can get some sun before the boogie! But to get some sun on my a$$ I have to go to key west. ..don't think I'm up for that .. As far as the tandem, ya know I can be talked into anything... as long as it clears the higher-up's desk. Oh! I did find out that it was possible to get lost between the DAV hall and the Coconut Cay. Harry kept feeding us drinks at the hall till sometime this morning. I think I'm going to get a string to tie from the hotel to the hall so that way I can make sure that I find my way back. glad it's warm here at night!! 8 days and counting!!
  19. Here's the rundown... Jan 29 thru Feb 1 -34 otter beach jumps on a couple of the days(weather providing) Mike Wittenburg(Team Loki,Z-Hills) for the freeflyers. Scotty Carbone & Tim Webb for the belly peeps. Carbone's on the food. Packin Cathy on the mat. Tammy from birdman will be there.(don't know if she'll have extra suits though) DZ.commers coming for sure: Carbone Zone crutch safetynate srinard labrys divnswoop rkymtnhigh?? Looks like about 50-80 people will be there.....
  20. Well, skyride sent a woman to sit in on the DZO conference. She stood up and said that skyride wanted to have a good relationship with dz's and wanted to "discuss" what they could do to achieve that. Once the laughter stopped, many DZO's stood up and told their story about skyride. The DZO of Perris said that she was unaware of skyride's business practices till recently and will no longer accept skyride certificates. Many others stood up and talked about phone calls made to skyride. Several dzo's said that skyride had made negative comments about their dzs when asked about them. Comments like, " Oh, you don't want to go there, they aren't very safe...Don't go there they have the highest fatality rate in the country..." Ben showed up after the meeting and pleaded ignorance about what was going on. So there are about 4 main movements against skyride now. 2 on the west coast and 2 on the east coast. One on the east coast is going after the marketing side of it and the other started at the end of the DZO meeting when SEVERAL dzo's pledged a significant amount of money to start a lawsuit to stop skyride's deceptive business practices.(lanthem act I believe...and bait and switch) It seems that things might take care of themselves as more and more dzo's realize what's going on. I'm just curious what dz's STILL accept their certificates.
  21. WOW!!! That's not what you said last year......here's your post... do you remember? Don't take a grudge against somebody because they have an interest in your safety. And publicly bashing a dropzone because they were concerned with your safety is just dumb. Say what you want to about Tim, but you can't knock his skills. Maybe you would be getting around a little better if you were willing to listen to other people. If you think that you have it all figured out with 900 jumps......well, i'll just say that I have three times that and realize I STILL have tons to learn about jumping and still learn everyday. ..sorry to everybody else on this tread for getting OT.. I just can't stand people bashing a dz who was using good judgment.
  22. 800 jumps in 41 years?? lets see....divide this by that and....... OH WAIT!!!! I didn't see that you had over 1000 posts on DZ.com, that changes everything. I apoligize.
  23. Now Dave......I've seen Tim try to fly the advanced frogman position from 1985 and he can't do it!! Oh, wait.....that's right that went out of style 20 years ago...evolution is a scary thing for some people. I remember watching people backslide way away from me some time ago...wait, maybe that was me!
