Yeah I know there's a thread identical to this one, but it's old. I get to leave this winter wonderland and spend Wednesday, February 25 and half of February 26 at either (or both) Lake Elsinore or Perris Valley. I'm looking for advice. I would like to spend the day with someone who can help me learn to sitfly or, preferably, hook up with a few others with low jump numbers who are trying to develop RW / big way skills, maybe with a coach.

They haven't completely smartened-up. Jammie Thomas goes back to a new trial March 9.

Skydive Arizona's South of the Boarder Boogie
TheCapt replied to amychmelecki's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Thanks! This is not the first time this happened to me. Once I sat around for days waitin' for a boogie to start that was over two hundred miles away. -

I'm tentatively in, but how do you get to San Marcos, Mexico? -
Here's the picture.

I took the four screws out of the backing plate on a Galaxy Extreme and replaced them with longer screws so I could bolt the altimeter to the Bonehead mudflap mount, but instead of using the strap, I had my rigger install two Chicago screws through the mudflap into the Bone head mount. Works great.

This just in! No helicopter jumps tomorrow. Postponed for one week.

OK. I'm not going to get a sit-suit.

One of my new year's resolutions is to master sit flying. I have only an academic knowledge, partially from reading "Vertical Journey," and I am wondering if anyone reading this has ever used a "Sit Suit" made by Tony. If you actually have used one, or actually talked to someone who did, please comment.

Would the USA ever adopt the metric system, realisticly?
TheCapt replied to rhys's topic in Speakers Corner
If God wanted us to use the metric system, there would have been 10 deciples instead of 12. End of argument. -
I exchanged some emails with Mads Larsen regarding what event records my deployment altitude on my Alti-track. He wrote back advising, "when you first begin to slow down." Logically, that would occur at onset of line stretch. I assume the same algorythm is used for the VISO, but that is just an assumption.

Here's a picture of who I look like.

Right on! My very first jump became a reserve ride with a crosswind landing more than a mile from the DZ. One of the things my instructor wrote in my log book was, "Good choice of offield landing area." That made me feel good enough to immediately jump again and get my license.

Renumbering Jumps in Alti-track and Jump-Track?

Thanks, Alan!! Matter is deemed handled. Hey! -
Renumbering Jumps in Alti-track and Jump-Track?
TheCapt replied to TheCapt's topic in Gear and Rigging
I guess I didn't ask my question very artfully. I know Alti-tracks don't record some hop & pops. That's a design feature that sometimes can be overcome with a student setting I'm told, but my specific question is how can you renumber a particular jump either in the Alti-track or Jump-track?? -
Renumbering Jumps in Alti-track and Jump-Track?
TheCapt replied to TheCapt's topic in Gear and Rigging
I have a bunch of hop & pops that never showed-up on my Alti-track, so the jumps that are recorded in the log don't have the right jump number. I want to hook up to Jump-Track and fix all this - renumber. Anyone have an idea how? Thanks! -
Ahoy! This is TheCapt. Jammie Thomas is my client. We went to trial and, as expected, lost, but foresaw what happened last Monday in court. There's me on one side of the courtroom and eight RIAA lawyers on the other side with their entourage and Gulfstream pilots. We kicked ass. I believe the juidge will throw out the judgment next month. Not bad for someone with only 86 jumps, eh?

I'm the guy who does the crossword puzzles for Parachutist. I was advised that it got screwed up there when they did the lay-out. Accidents happen. There was an omitted clue - Famous First Name: D-1 and the answer is of course: LEW. There were a few extra items on the answer page but that didn't effect the puzzle itself. Thanks for mentioning it!

Most Promiscuous City in the U.S. - We're No. 1!
TheCapt replied to DontPanic's topic in The Bonfire
Wrong! Most promiscuous city is actually Minneapolis. They say you never lose your girlfriend; you just lose your turn. -
In the August issue of "Parachutist" magazine, in the process of laying it out, the clue for 25 down was inadvertently omitted. The clue is: Famous First Name: D-1.

Merriah is spotlighted in the May Parachutist magazine. Reading that will persuade you that she'd welcome your questions.

There is an ad out now showing a "Military Alt-Track" that has a face whose highest numeral is 25,000 feet instead of 18,000 feet. The ad says the case is "ruggadized aluminum." It also advises of a NATO number, and it has an elevation offset scale inside the main ring of numers. There are also ads showing the regular old Alti-Track and ads showing an Alti-Track same as the regular one (18,000 is the biggest number), but with an elevation offset scale and a reference to a NATO number in the manual. Anybody know what the difference is between these three Alti-Tracks? Are they all ruggedized aluminum? Mads, are you there?

Sorry - here's the photo.

Please see my attached photo. I drilled four holes in the bottom portion of my Bonehead mount, I removed the backing plate from my Galaxy Extreme and screwed the altimeter to the mount. Step two. My favorite rigger installed two stainless steel grommets in the mudflap. I then drilled two holes in the vertical part of the mount, and using two "Chicago Screws," attached the mount to the mudflap.
