And thanks to the miracle of science we can see exactly what will happen... see attached... just kidding lurch...don't get all up tight about it this time oh...and...BEER!!!

If your referring to the "small" rubber bands (as in tandem-regular-small)...I don't think that I'd double stow those. Otherwise you might be finding out how hard your reserve opens

You said 50 jumps on that canopy/container...was it brand new to you? Of is it used? If used - maybe out of trim? Also probable cause of slammers - Tuck tabs (riser covers) opening unevenly. There was a long thread about this...But these 3 posts HERE...HERE and HERE are the best explinations to the tuck tab issue. The long and short of it is that stiff tuck tabs can be responsible for uneven release of the risers causing hard openings. Good luck. I had a slammer, once, that resulted in a exploded canopy...That sucked!

I've always thought about the above solution. The cost of getting the system at your DZ is just too large unless taken on by a large number of people. I agree that if the transmitters were given away, more locator's would be sold. As I understood it, the locator's were the very expensive part of the system. Or the other way...give a large DZ the locater and sell a crap load of the transmitters After loosing a freebag this weekend...thats the 2nd one of mine lost to that forest, I would say that it would be good to have it on both main and freebag.

Just thought you'd guys like to know! Especially with the Wingsuit weekend coming up. Yay skyvan!

Maybe if he keeps coming to these camps he will finally get good enough to get invited best comment of the day! -
Echoing what most here are saying.... Here's my take... Suits - don't know about the deal you have going for the classic, but there are better suits out there with good deals to be had. My only problem with that however, is fit. A ill fitting suit can suck all the fun right out of your wingsuiting experience. If your spending around 400...I would say spend the extra 250 and get a TS Intro. The buy back program gives you credit towards your next Tony Suit when your ready to move on... Canopy - I fly a Katana 97... Chuck flies a Sabre 2 97...there are others with small very spinny canopies. Can it be done? Yes.... Would I let you do it while your learning?...No If you look around, there should be some appropriate gear around. I understand that its a pain...but so is climbing trees for your main and free bag. At least get a good amount of jumps before moving back to the Stiletto. Sabre1's can be had for a steal here in the classifieds, and they are great for wing suiting.

LOL... Well atleast we know its not tony... We can actually read and comprehend it

Kung Fu Panda bwahahahaahhahahahahahahahahaha!! Great video very very fun to watch!!!

The total solution to your problem would be to come to zhills!!! See chuckie as he has one of the BIGGEST demo fleets you will ever see. BM, TS, PF, S-Fly.... Its all there + coaching and flocks. This time of year ='s big puffy clouds all the way to altitude...come on down! As far as sending out suits, probably not so much there, its typically easier to seek out the WS events as there are demos available there. Where are you located? Below are some DZs that there is a prominent WS scene where you may be able to find some demos: Zhills Pepperal Orange Xkeys SDAZ and there are some other West Coast DZs...but we all know they don't matter And to answer the suit sizing question, it is a bit different than you think. For flocking, typically the big fat guys (read americans in general ) need to fly the bigger suits to keep up with the smaller guys. Think wingloading here. If I'm small, I need less wing to make me fall slow than say a 300lb midget. Judging by your provided dimensions...a raptor or Blade or Phantom or Ghost is right up your alley. Of course if you are going for time/distance...Mach1

Good good man!!!!

I own a Blade (thanks Chuck)...and I do love it very very much. It fits my flying style and is very intuitive to fly. It is AWESOME to back fly...absolutely solid! Pressurization is right where I want it to be...not air matress-y but not flappy either. It has good float and good speed when flown correctly. And who can forget the Scallops?!??!?!?!?!?!!!!?! When I put on a tony suit...it is ALWAYS the Raptor. I love it. It flies very very similarly to the blade. I find I am on my back in a Raptor more than I belly fly. Those starting out on backflying will find this a WONDERFUL suit to cut your teeth on. Pressurization does not inhibit your transitions, yet it still keeps the suit solid in all positions. Did I mention I like back flying?? For my size and body type, I rarely feel the need to step up to a Mach 1 for the types of flying we do. Are you short and heavy? Tall and skinny? This all should factor into your suit choice...not just what everyone else on the DZ is flying. I also find myself siding with Tony Suit more and more due to the constant innovation coming off their floor. The new arm design (allows you to reach your risers while still zipped up...even on the mach 1), ease of hook up, ease of suiting up...all contribute to my desire to make my next suit a tony suit. Just one more thing to consider.... If you live in the USA, you cannot beat the price and delivery time of Tony Suit. If price and delivery time were the same, I would have the HARDEST time deciding between a Raptor or Blade. They are so similar to me (flying wise), that it would be very very tough. I do LOVE my blade. However, the price and delivery time are not the same, and the $400ish difference is a significant amount of money. It also sucks to ship something to Europe to fix it...it sucks much less to ship it to Florida PS... I am not in any way influenced, sponsored, or affiliated with BM or TS... Just a wingsuiter that is torn between to GREAT suits. Either way, you will be very very happy with your suit... Oh...and not to complicate things...but don't forget about the Phoenix Fly guys...they make some pretty bad ass suits too

In the skydiving environment I would buy a USED sony over a new anything else Not that I do not like many of these other camcorders for everyday use...its just that Sony's use and durablitity has been proven over hundreds of thousands of skydives. Its reputation alone removes the "is this going to work?" question from my mind. Buy a CX-7

One experience with a Tempo. Post Wing Suit sub terminal reserve deployment due to spinning line twists. Very hard opening (much harder than my PD-R opened...I'm not a brand snob...just sharing my experience). Flew straight, had good flair. This was my personal experience. Your Results May Vary!

did you go to a rave and drop "e" afterward? and the EXIF data is still there...so no PS? And if there was...putting the reflection by the feet was a nice nice touch. I think real

edit to ask Sabre 2 170 to a Sabre2 170...why even bother changing??? And also...is a balloon jump really the time I want to change to something new????? And if its just to "quickly pack" I think you will find that it takes just as long to switch (with mirage dbag in your container) as it would be to just pack your own stuff. Not a Rigger.... Only my opinion However, as it has been mentioned, many canopy demos (particularly at boogies) come all ready on risers and in a dbag for a quick swap. They have neat demo bags that clip the risers down through the 3 rings. I doubt that they would continue doing that if it was that drastically unsafe. That is at terminal-terminal'ish speeds. I don't know if I'd do it on a balloon jump though? Its not like it takes all that long to switch a dbag. For reference - I am happy to do the demo canopy swap out. If the bags were made for the same size canopy sure - on a normal jump (not balloon).

Lurch, are they going to have to add another page to "Birdmen, Batmen, and Skyflyers: Wingsuits and the Pioneers Who Flew in Them, Fell in Them, and Perfected Them" under the Did Not Work category?

Tony Suits does it again - Large surface area wingsuit with NO cutaway!
peggs82 replied to The111's topic in Wing Suit Flying
oh the joys of trying to understand tony in typed form Can we get an interpreter? -
Rig...but buy used! 1st rig should never be a new one... Besides, I know alot of DZs that loan out jumpsuits for free. Not alot of DZ's loan out gear for free

Had one happen to me the other day that resulted in a 3 foot blowout on my canopy. I know how you feel. If you cruise on over to this thread, there is an interesting discussion on Bill Booth's opinion of Riser cover tuck tabs and their possible contribution to slammers. They happen, I don't think the problem is related to any one type of canopy. That particular thread talks about Pilots, here we talk about Sabre2's, others the original Sabre. They are all very very popular canopies, so it does not surprise me that we here about them more often. I suspect slider placement, uneven riser deployment, and line dump to contribute to the phenomenon. Be glad your bones are still in tact, be even happier that you are still alive. All are possible outcomes with slammers. Took me a few jumps to get over my hesitation of going to terminal
