Man wish I could have come! Hope it all went well! -
All about the $$$. I am sure that if they were not selling the advertising space, they would be broadcasting something else... That and I wonder what the "educational" write off they probably get for carrying it as well?

Replying to the OP.... Last year at Summerfest at SDC, a student cut away, tossing her handles. Apparently the sky wasn't so big for a fisherman below, as it hit him on the head. I never heard any follow up to it, but I do remember when the cop came in with the handle. Also.. Just 3 weeks ago while walking to the plane, a helmet impacted just 10 feet in front of us. It hit square on the runway and literally bounced 20 feet back into the air. It was one of those odd situations where everyone had been standing around and I thought to myself, "why aren't they walking to the plane?" .... Had they been walking to the plane I am absolutely cirtain one of them would have been hit by that helmet.... ps. the helmet was a Z1 that experienced a violent riser slap on deployment (I am not convinced she had it buclked down or not). Helmet must have fallen 3,000 feet... anyone know what terminal velocity of a Z1 is? -
EXACTLY. Unsigned cards are asking for it. To clarify, mine do say "See ID".... and I typically do not present my credit card without my ID. g Some american express cards now have your picture on them. Costco Amex cards come to mind...

Exactly right there. HD or not, atleast do yourself a favor a make sure its got a digital tuner. Most HD sets have this built in now-a-days anyway, so a "HD tuner" isn't necessary (for over the air HD or SD content). You will still need either a HD dish reciever, or a card from your cable company to unlock the cable tuner function. For all you out there wondering about this, Feb 19, 2009 is the analog broadcast cutoff date from the FCC. So if you still recieve over the air broadcast, you will need to upgrade one way or the other.

I watched 2 just about 2 weeks ago, one went well, one did not. Robi would be a great person to ask the specifics. As for deployment, the one that went well was the passanger dumping in place off of his back, it was pretty cool.

I had a hard time in LAX about a week ago. I always travel my rig in a duffle to avoid undue attention. The TSA lady asks if I have a heater in my bag. I replied, "no, it's a sport parachute". Her eyes got big, and she said she needed to talk to her supervisor. The sup then proceedes to read off the procedure, finishing by mentinoing "breaking the seals"....uh oh.... Thankfully all they ended up doing was the swiping thing. I took an extra 10 minutes to walk them through everything they would see on an x-ray and it seemed to help them alot. I also mentioned the "FAA approved rigger" line to keep them from wanting to open future reserve containers, also citing the financial loss's incured when this happens. The origional TSA lady said "I've worked here and never seen one of these because people always check them." To which I replied, "no...they don't" Even though it took some time, I could see it was a positive thing for all involved, hopefully reducing futher headaches for all skydivers heading through LAX. So for the OP, while I understand the suggestion was a joke, lets not push it ever...

One of skydive city's/The Ranch's otters (N128PM) also has the snub nose. The only explination I ever got from it was luggage storage. Do not know about floats or anything like that? -
James... you forgot to add that you broke the speed of sound not 2 days ago on a 12 way flock!

I was there in during the month of august when I had around 70ish jumps. Went to Pacific. Had to wait a couple days before they would let me jump due to winds. I can deffinetly understand that. Like others said, watch out for the rotors off of the trees. Where you turn in on final is where your going to land, so don't get yourself in trouble. Otherwise, have fun and enjoy the view. Don't forget to catch the north shore. By far the way to enjoy Oahu!

Saved each one of them! Looks great!

Mine, and at today's rate-it's worth $3.64 LOL!!!!!

"BA apologises for using first class seats to store corpses"
peggs82 replied to grue's topic in The Bonfire
Thats what I was wondering. Especially on a 777? If it was a 20% open first class cabin, I would have moved a row of people in the back of the plane up to first, and given the deceased and their companions an entire row away from everyone.
