  1. You can download the CH1 exam from the BPA website - it needs to be word for word from the manual! Take that, plus your logbook to your local DZ (note that some I've heard of have an issue if you've done it abroad, but I know for sure that both Langar and Headcorn are fine about it). They'll just need to watch you and sign it off. I got mine at Headcorn, and they didn't charge me or make me do a check jump, altho did watch my canopy control.
  2. Hi there, I contacted Sunpath directly 2 weeks ago as was in the same situation as you. 10 - 12 weeks is what they have confirmed back to me as the current waiting time. I put my order in last week after hearing that. 29 weeks is just a bit ridiculous. The reasons given for the wait time being so long at times is due to them being suppliers to the military, and so many teams - when they get a huge order, it affects everyone elses. Blue skies.....
  3. Having wanted to do my AFF for years, and never finding anyone to do it with, I finally went out to Ocana by myself, and haven't looked back (quite daunting, especially for a girlie!)! The people are great - both from the English and Spanish schools (2 different companies, but not apparent!). You can do your course in a couple of days as the weather is great most of the time, and get onto the real fun! And there is a steady flow of students and fun jumpers of all levels. The people really do make it stand out from the rest - everyone is helpful, will happily give out advice (and not in a condescending or patronising way like I've found at some of the UK dz's), and they all are so passoinate about jumping that if, like me, there are times during the AFF course that you're not sure you can do it, just seeing how excited they are to get up there and have fun keeps you going. Their packers are brilliant - super quick and you can't fault their packing, the prices are reasonable, the rental gear is good, and the attitude is right. It was so good infact that after 2 weeks of coming back to the UK I headed straight out there again, and already have my next 2 trips there booked. And then there's those huge vodka's the local bar staff pour.....

  5. Went to visit some friends up in Manchester and decided to go up to Black Knights to do a couple of jumps. The people are all so friendly and welcoming, and someone gave us a dz briefing almost immediately. They are really chilled out, and the emphasis is on fun (obviously safety comes first, but they have the right approach to encourage visitors to return!) Had a brilliant day, loved the scenery, didn't take long to get on loads - if you were there the whole day with your own gear you could get a fair few jumps in! Just enjoyed the people and place and would definately recommend. Pity it isn't closer to me!
