Got back in the gym today after a 3 week layoff....cold and then travel and then....recovery from travel. 1st day back was tough in some aspects and easy in others. Felt good to workout though. Walked for 30 minutes and then upper body lifting...then did some stretching. Tomorrow will be the same but then I will hit the lower body. I had been jumping a spectre up until about 30 jumps ago....couldn't figure out to land the darn thing.....always took 600-800 ft to open....If the nose was rolled up to 1000ft. I switched out to the Pilot and my rigger packed it...rolled the nose....thing sniveled for 1200ft. Was glad that I had pulled higher than my norm on that jump. Doc and I are just starting to go to some boogies....more this year than before. For us Prairie is a staple due to the people that go. Almost all of the jumpers from our DZ go to this boogie and how can we resist an Amazon hug, flashing with shell666, hanging out at the lake.....and then there is the lang brewery. We made an attempt to go to the endless summer boogie in sandiego but the fires kept us from jumping. We did get to jump in elsinore which was a kick. We are headed to sebastian at the end of the month for the holiday boogie......we just happen to have a condo there the first week in january and it coincides with the boogie - didn't know that when we signed up for it, but it is definitely an additional benefit. We are also talking about doing the Leap for Lupus, the Bitterroot boogie and I want to go play with Beth and Gia (if they are going) at the Chicks Rock this next year. I think in the end for us it has to do more with the people that are going to be there than anything else. Getting to hang out and jump with our friends means the world to the both of us. I'm definitely not into talking to the dead through psychics, but I had a wild dream after my grandmother died, wherein she called me on the phone from heaven to tell me that she had, in her words, "defrosted the frigidaire" that day. In my dream, I wondered how I could tell her that she was dead and couldn't call me anymore. It was so incredibly realistic that it still stands out in my mind as a very different dream than any "normal" dreams I've ever had. I woke up and wasn't really sure what had happened. I saw a lot of my grandmother and loved her but wasn't so tremendously close to her that her death was devastating to me, otherwise the dream would have made more sense. I'll never forget that one--and I'll always wonder about it just a little bit. Oh, and not only do you dream every night, I think you'd have some fairly serious medical issues if you didn't. As others have said, the real issue is what you actually remember. I remember most of my dreams....they tend to be in color and are the most bizarre things. the ones that i hate the most are when something happens that irritates me.....and I wake up angry. The bad news: We got back late on saturday night. Too jet lagged to do much of anything for a couple of days and then worked on wednesday. Slacked yesterday and am spending the morning doing the christmas decorations. Getting back into the groove on monday as i have the kids this weekend. The good news: I am down 12 lbs since september and didn't really gain while we are on vacation. Looks like I was better on the trip than I thought I was.
