  2. Hi Rookie, Family understanding helps for sure. I'm so glad your dad got to experience it. He'll always have that! Ok, so I'm no whipper-snapper so to speak, hey but no one has told me or convinced me of that yet!! My kids know how athletic and bold I am, and I love living life. I see it this way: If your not enjoying life your doing it wrong. It's all in the journey. My husband will never jump. No desire to. He says "who in their right mind would jump out of a perfectly good airplane"? I said " I have never claimed to be in right mind"! He's cool with it for me though. Safe always!
  3. Thanks All for your warm welcome. I'm really looking forward to learning more. Hey Skymama, thanks for the info, I really needed to hear that I can afford it after the initial shock. You know what you love most by the time and/or money you invest. 82ndproud / Johni
  4. Hi, I'm new to skydiving and this forum. I'm looking forward to great times and great people. I did my first tandem in March, a present from my son. What a GIFT! I have always wanted to skydive, among many other daring adventures. My son is in the 82nd Airborne and when he joined I was so excited for him and told him to take me with him in spirit on his first jump. Every jump he would call me and my heart would just race. So His gift was quite special for me, and him. He is a Jump Master now in the army and after taking me for a tandem and watching, he has decided he will also go for non military skydiving training. WOOHOO! ME TOO. I know, I know, your asking why I'm not trained yet. Timing and money I guess. But, I am going again this month with my friend and my daughter. Here's the thing, I know what training and eqip. costs, but what are the expences of keeping up with jumps and equip. on a regular basis costs? I sure would appreciate an approx. round a bout on this. I'm hoping my daughter and I can do training together. From there I hope to get the whole famn damily doing it together. Camp, jump, jump, jump bonfire!!!! YEAH!!! Johni
