I don't wear any type of croakies at all with my Gatorz (I wear "ice"). They stay on just fine held only in place with my PimpDaddy Mindwarp. Same for my Optik Illusion. Never had a problem with Gatorz coming off my face.

Well, we had a blast on the trip. We actually got married on Friday at 6pm on the 2nd floor balcony of the Southern Cross, overlooking a very, very-crowded Duval Street. Pyke (Kiwi Monkey) and Bob were there from GA; two guys from my bike club in NC were there; and a few KW local buddies were there. It was great fun. Chuck

John and I work at the same dropzone. I was taught "lock on at 6k" by my AFF course director, Billy Rhodes.

Condolences for Chris Martin (GroundZero)
SkymonkeyONE replied to sangiro's topic in Blue Skies - In Memory Of
Like many others who travel the boogie circuit as vendors, I was incredibly good friends with Chris. There is nothing better than showing up somewhere knowing your buddies are going to be there with you. Chris and I spent a LOT of time together these past few years and I am having a very hard time with this. Katie and I regularly got calls from him just to see what we were up to or to find out if we were going to be at the next stop down the boogie trail. He was a fantastic, upbeat guy and always had great stories to tell. I found out about the accident about ten minutes after it happened and I found myself with the monumental responsibility of having to notify Kristi. As fate would have it, I was the first person notified who had the phone number. I had just got married in Key West and I have to tell you that making that call was probably the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life. I was stricken with both pain and anger that it had happened and I could only do so much to ease Kristi's pain. It was terrible. It was likewise terrible to pass the news onto Beezy Shaw. The three of us were sort of "Three Musketeers" on the road and were always the life of the party wherever we met. Chris was a very-rounded skydiver. He was in my estimation the second-most experienced wingsuit pilot on the planet; a dropzone operator; an incredibly experienced pilot; a respected member of the gear industry. I miss my friend. Here we are, no shit. We are staying tonight with Boxman and J. Schrimsher in Z. Our trip thus far has taken us from NC into AL for a day, then down to Deland for a day and a half, and now into Z-hills. Every stop has been productive and fun. We leave tomorrow morning for Key West by way of Highway 27 south. We pass Clewiston, near the old Pahokee, then past Homestead before hitting US-1 South at Florida City for the last 130 miles of our trip. We are going to marry on 30 October down in KW during Fantasy Fest. We are staying at the Southern Cross hotel on Duval St. If you can make it, make it; if you can't, don't sweat it. I actually have one of those Dytter mounts for goggles, but never got around to using it. They have them, and the ever-popular "foot mount", on sale at SkyCAT.

IF you have tried all the different packing tricks and nothing is working, then a slider mod or a slightly smaller slider will definitely work. Still, simply packing without rolling the nose at all and not wrapping the tail too tight ought to speed up the openings.

Post your Hot Swoop Pic(s)
SkymonkeyONE replied to freeflydrew's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
Your photo did not attach, Ankie. -
One reason for audibles is that is you wear you alti (or Neptune) on your wrist and you are jumping a SkyFlyer 3 or another wingsuit with wingtip stiffners installed then you have a real hard time seeing it. I don't look at my alti at all until very late in the skydive because of the way I fly holding my wingtips. If I had my alti/neptune in a more visible location I would not concern myself too much with my audible. Mudflap mounts work really nice, but the one I have won't fit on my Wings containers.

That is fucking nuts! Can you imagine how loud it would have sounded to someone walking down next to the lake? Hooty HOO!

All I could get was the opening title. It played all the way through with just that on the screen.

If you drive the 85 to 65 route you will pass within one mile of Skydive Opelika. It's actually just off the Tuskegee exit (exit 38 on I-85 in Alabama)

Do you get tired of all the sexual talk on dzcom?
SkymonkeyONE replied to sunshine's topic in The Bonfire
I don't get it. -
You people just have to understand that Steve is a freaky motherfucker. I really like Steve, but the boy just ain't right! His typical DZ attire (everytime I have seen him) is black polyester slacks and an old, red, nylon Nintendo jacket. For further insight into Steves mind, simply check out his website. He has made it incredibly hard to navigate as it has all sorts of hidden buttons which you must run your mouse all around to find. Odd. Chuck

Jib is on the way there.

I couldn't figure out how to access those photos.

I think some people need to get a life of their own and concentrate more on it than they do with world politics. I also think that some people actually stay in shape by being involved in SC. They work up so much hate and anger over those subjects that they simply must be burning calories and losing weight.

Is that really the point of having the nine-cell meet? To allow beginners a forum? My volunteering to compete under my Sabre2 is a product of being tired of hearing people say that they simply must jump a braced wing in order to excell in competition. As someone who competed for three seasons under a nine-cell with better than average success against crossbraced mains, I would just like to show people that it's not the wing over your head; it's the well-practiced ability of the pilot which gets you scoring rounds in competition. No RDS, HMA lines, or one-off factory crossbraced canopy is going to get you through the gates; it's your competency under canopy which will ensure you scoring runs. My Velocity needs relining anyway.

Well, I am going to be in Deland for the meet on December 4th, so maybe I will have time to compete under my Sabre2 just for shits and grins. If I have time to do it around my organizing commitments then I am game. Or maybe I will just run the course in my unzipped suit after flock jumps. Either way, if I have time to compete, I will make the "real" gates and anyone else competing under their non-braced shit should do the same. Chuck

No, bro, I am sure that's just for Speed, right, Chris?
