    Because they fine you. All my friend ever busted for pot had to pay some hefty fines. Maybe that isn't the norm, I made it a priority to not get arrested for the same.     Sorry for the thread drift but I guess I don't see the big deal with a huge service life? Some of the original AAD's on the market have an unlimited service life correct? But you don't see a lot of rigs with sentinels in them any more! I am pretty sure that by the time my cypres II is expired in 8 more years there will be something else that I will want to upgrade to that is even more refined and improved.     Why do you need to remove the mal'd reserve? Correct me if I am wrong but paraglider reserves don't involve a cutaway of the wing, the reserve just adds extra drag to save your ass.     A fanny sack is a great place to hold a... ermmm soda. You can put the soda in a heavy duty ziplock to contain a burst. I have allways worried that I might have a blow out on the way to jump run and my ass would be grass. If you were insane, and alone in the air, you could use mini carabiners to clip your toggles to your hip rings and fly around in deep deep brakes while you drink your soda.     What did your instructos say? Your instructors will give you a far better explain how to land a canopy with face to face instruction than some putz on the internet. And in my opinion any one who is trying to offer a student with one jump landing tips over the internet is doing that student a disservice. All you need to know is you will learn as you make additional jumps, and that you need to consult your instructors, not the internet.     I think I hit 100 in about 6 months, I had 250 in just over a year, and 500 and just over two years. I have been slowing down recently, not as single as I was, and not as spend happy as I once was. I still love every minute of it though.     I have heard grand stories of my dz from days long past. Now the only people who seem to stay are the one or two families that tow their campers there for the weekend. No one camps, and because no one camps no one wants to camp by all by themselves. I would love to camp, but I found myself a great girlfriend so I can't stay all weekend at the dz any more, and I know better than to bring her around there. I don't mind those at all, at least I can look down and KNOW that they are going to sashay and s turn all over the place on final. I like knowing what to expect.     No one is going to coddle him in this thread because in my opinion his original additude and tone sucked. There is a difference between a gap in knowledge, and a shitty additude. If you can't deal with some tough love, and still listen to the message, then you weren't going to listen in the first place. I certainly remember the few times I made some mistakes and got my ass chewed out, and I remember the leason as well if not better than the ass chewing itself.
