  1. I'm not at CES, wasn't in the corporate budget this year. But... Have had hands-on with the 110, and it's what I expected. It's not a "CX100 killer" so if you've got a CX, don't rush out and buy a 110 unless you're a gear geek. It's the 100 with some tweaks. No experience with the other models, as they aren't as rushed as the 110 is.
  2. Unless the first post-factory pack job was the result of a reserve deployment, the last rigger should have had the stow the factory used upon assembly. If there was no reserve deplyment, maybe the last rigger made a larger stow to make it easier to close the bag. Did you happen to notice if the bag was 'closed' or was it hanging open with the canopy barely contained in the bag? I'm not suggesting that it would be acceptable to do that, even if you sewed the stow correctly, but it would explain why a rig that should have had a factory safety stow installed would have a larger home-made stow in it's place. According to the data card from this Sigma, it was originally assembled and packed. Then during that first cycle there was a cutaway & rserve deployment. It appears the original safety stow was lost during that reserve deployment, and this one was homemade to replace the original. . The replacement was made too large (it should have been same size as the factory part in that photo). Freebag stayed shut, but not tightly closed as it should have been.
  3. I've seen only one, and while the suit wasn't "worn through," the wear marks were pretty evident. He's more or less a newer wingsuiter, so probably doesn't have more than 50 jumps on it. I'd meant to ask about it, but he was gone before we got to have much discussion. To a far, far better place, I hope. Who'd-a thunk an almost worn-thru wingsuit would have caused such a tragedy? I do seriously feel badly for him. His home DZ has 2' of snow. Anyone who has to be "goned" from SoCal this time of year is certainly suffering.
  4. First repack ever or first one you did? . Good catch Jan. Second pack job after the factory pack, so third time this reserve has been packed. I'll have someone get right on that tile. It's not in my job description and well beyond my meager talent.
  5. From a Sigma, first repack of the rig. Notice the difference in size?
  6. If you went to re-pack a reserve and found a safety stow that looked like this, what would you do? Merely repair it, or have a chat with the previous rigger? Or purchase a new one from the manufacturer? Reinstall it or hang on your wall of shame? (in the attached photo, you can see the factory replacement vs the homemade attempt).
  7. Last jump of 2009-Otter at Elsinore, New Year's Eve. RW with 6 kiss passes with a friend from Utah. First jump of 2010-Otter at Elsinore, New Year's Day. New Year's Eve was cold at 75 degrees. New Year's Day was colder at 70 degrees. Wingsuit rodeo jump with a Utah friend. Nice way to start the year.

  9. This *might* be valid. On a wingsuit, they'll wear through the fabric fairly quickly.
  10. Jan was on the USPA Board of Directors for a time, Ozzy.
  11. It was in the last NL from Dec. 18. Gee I wonder why there is nothing on their web site? . Hmm. it -was- on the website, but now gone. It was on the I/E and CD pages, right hand side. Hope you can make it, JP.
  12. It's actually very easy. The only hoop/hassle is the YouTube/Google/Vimeo api and auto-uploads so that the script comes back to your website to use the embed code, but if you're hosting your own...it's rididulously easy. Jason, our Ultimate S and Production Assistant software packages have offered this for about four years now. But, it's Vegas specific. The editing process can't be automated in any application but Vegas (at this point in time) which is one reason so many DZ's are using it. Auto ingest, edit, output, and an additional menu option will render out any variety of webvids. Ours go at 640 x 360 for iPod compatibility, but we'll soon be moving to a standard of 1280 x 720.
  13. It was cold as hell here once the sun set. It was a frigid 82 during the day, but got into the high 60's when this pic was taken. today it only got up to 77
  14. Are you going to be in San Diego later this month?
  15. Jason, we already do, but that's not the point of this poll. There isn't a day goes by that I don't talk to some DZ, glider port, paraglide company, etc about how they're creating, editing, and delivering media, and web delivery comes up a lot. Moreso with the gliders and other "thrill ride" businesses than in skydiving, so I'm really curious about the actual offerings and the "whys" if it's not being offered.

  25. Curious about who is delivering at all to the web. I'm not asking about the "occasional" favor a photographer might offer to a special student, but rather whether the tandem or AFF video offerings include a stated web delivery option or benefit.
