  1. Nope. That would appear to be a New Balance with some grass in it. aloha.
  2. Dude!! I was soo thinking along those lines. lol. Something like...."This will surely get us into Natasha's pants! " aloha.
  3. .. for the sake of someone's hemorrhoids and lack of faith?? According to court documents, Brown claims that she suffers from anxiety and hemorrhoids because of the incident and said her faith was affected. aloha.
  4. As this particular forum is dedicated to saying "hello" you may try posting that question over here-- General Skydiving Discussions. It might get more attention and a faster response. aloha.
  5. Good luck with that. Many of us who got "hooked" on skydiving have never fully recovered financially. Yes it is. Welcome Grace!!
  6. Welcome DJ ! Most options are good. It's really up to you. You'll probably get different opinions depending on who you ask here. Let's say that since you're from Toronto you were to decide on Skydive Toronto. They, for example, appear to offer Tandem or Solo Static Line as a first jump method. Tandem: Attached by harness to a certified instructor, freefall and land with a canopy built for two. Advantage: You get a taste of freefall as a passenger with the added security of an instructor in control. Disadvantage: NONE. Static Line: You jump solo and your parachute deploys automatically seconds after your exit. A bit different than the AFF Stage 1 referred to by the above poster. Advantage: You start learning 'canopy control' on your first jump and the feeling of accomplishment by doing it yourself. Disadvantage: NONE. That said, if you continue with either program you'll likely have to do a few (approximately 4-6) static line jumps before being cleared for your first 'solo' freefall. Whichever method you end up choosing just go for it and have fun.
  7. "Oh, nice. 16 Candles is on, man!" "And the award for the least heterosexual statement ever made in this apartment goes to... Harold Lee! Come on down, man! Take a bow!" and Kumar: "I forgot my cell phone. " Harold: "You wanna run back and get it?" [both turn and look at their front door 20 feet from them] Kumar: "No, we've gone too far." I think Comedy Central has played 'White Castle' at least twice this last week. Good stuff. aloha.
  8. "But you have perfect MCAT scores! " Kumar: "Yeeeah, just cause you're hung like a moose doesn't mean you gotta do porn. " Edit: to fix it. aloha.
  9. Do you mean physically or financially? Skydiving will tax both!! WELCOME Dan !!
  10. Holy sh*t !!! Josh Wink, Carl Cox, Sasha and Digweed, DJ Dan, Crystal Method.....on and on. Looks like an event where I'd want to be in multiple places at once! aloha.
  11. Sad news. It's interesting to note though the post on that forum made by username "The Warbler". If you replaced the words 'mountaineering' and 'climbing world' with 'skydiving' it would still be fitting. aloha.
  12. Psst....try Skydiving Disciplines Forum. Go to the DZ. Often.
  13. Sharp rig LouDiamond. Nice poptop.
  14. I agree 100%. I had a student pass out cold on the ground all geared up and waiting to make their 3rd S/L jump. He was young, looked in shape and in the military. We found out later that he had a known medical condition that caused blackouts and mild seizures but had stopped taking his medication days proir. He also neglected to include this information on his waiver. My hat's off to you, Tom, for raising a stink despite the DZO. To the OP: Is your DZ located near a body of water? If so this incident might have ended much differently. aloha.
  15. Just a guess but it is the weekend. Possibly the MODs are jumping? aloha.
  16. Beer...good for whatever mood urine. aloha.
  17. I thought that was a "box lunch"?!!! Wouldn't it still be a COCKPIT?? If a female is piloting a Skyvan, would that be a Box in a Box?? aloha.
  18. Banana Spider? If so, there's many in Hawaii. Have pics somewhere of a couple behind the house. aloha.
