Based on extensive analysis of threads, Nielsen ratings for DropZone.com show these top 10 reasons skydivers start new threads. 10. You're bored at work and have nothing else to do except annoy others with senseless polls about a favorite this or that. 9. You have a technical computer question that can only be answered by skydivers and not any of the online resources. 8. You do not approve of how another skydiver is behaving. 7. You read a news article and want to pass judgement upon the people in the story, the media and anyone with an opposing view. 6. You have some personal medical or family problem and you are so desperate that you are willing to take the advice of strangers because they skydive. 5. You need to post a picture or video of naked chicks. 4. You need vibes for yourself or a loved one. 3. You need to ed-ju-cate the rest of the skydiving world about something you just learned about that has nothing to do with skydiving. 2. You need to make a loooooong post about: a. your first jump b. your failed release skydive c. your flip on exit and how scared you got d. how it was in the olden days and how the new skydivers are ruining the sport e. the merits of having an RSL, AAD, audible or hook knife f. the disadvantages of having an RSL, AAD, audible or hook knife And the NUMBER ONE reason you should start a thread is: [drum roll please…….] 1. You have a NEW skydiving related question, comment or story. Oh my - these results are false. The number one reason is really the desired number one reason. It came in at #2978. The real number one reason was to post whore.

Yes, it was funny, I'll give you that. But trolling is against the forum rules and we, the volunteer Mods have a life outside dz.com and don't really want to spend our time watching over posts that so obviously break the forum rules. If we let you do it, then other people are going to create false names to troll also and that is not the direction that HH wants the forums to go. Aw, c'mon, Greenies never get to have any fun! Yeah i realize ya'll have a real life. But ya know, sometimes the threads here are just so outrageous that they deserve an ass-kicking reality check.
-
So what do you think about my advice? I think you are one of the reasons that the Greenies lock obvious trolls early. You just can't help yourself.
-
I got that immediately. I do think it's disrespectful to those who with very real pain in their lives who have posted, asking for advice, but it was so well done that it just kind of leaves me dumbfounded wondering whether to praise it or condemn it. In the end, I have to solidly praise something that gets my attention the way that post did. Maybe you ought to look at the bigger social commentary of that post and not dwell on the specifics. It was no regular troll, that's for sure. And I'm sure you entertained yourself. I'm still not sure whether you entertained me or not, but your future posts will have my undivided attention. Yep, I'd have to say 10+ on a scale of 0 to 10, but I'm still not sure whether the 10 is the good or the bad end. Walt Time will tell I suppose.
-
see what Imean Walt - people take this forum way too seriously.
-
Thanks Walt. I wrote the post. I'm glad it gave you a 10 of 10 in the entertainment dimension. Just a reality check. It was a Reader's Digest version of recent posts. So many posters take posts at face value and reply as though the poster was legit. Maybe I can do this on a monthly basis or we could have a contest on the best 'rolled-up-in-one post'. I am surprised that such an obvious troll was locked so quickly. It would also be entertaining to hear the replies. Then a Greenie, wait two Greenies, gave it more air time by replying to a locked post. Isn't this place just for entertaining oneself?

Hi I was wondering if I could get your opinion(s). I am only 16, but have been jumping since I was 13 and a half. I have 2000+ jumps and have won several meets in FS, FF and swooping. A lot of these meets do not have cash prizes, so it's not worth my time and effort anymore. I have a BF that is rude to others and a father that hates me because I sleep around. I am also bisexual and Pop doesn't like that either. He did like me hanging with other girls at first, but then he learned that we were having sex. That's when he wanted to send me to a nunnery. I told him he had no business asking about my sex life. My BF likes it and likes to watch too. He still doesn't want to do 3-ways. Something about feeling like a homo. He doesn't want to have another guy see him with a hardon. My BF has kicked his drug addition. I have lost interest in just going to the dz to hang. Most people are all caught up in their miserable lives. All they do is complain about their wifes or their boss. Then they hit on me. I had a very bad landing accident a year ago. I broke my face and found out I was pregnant. The baby was stillborn at 7 months. The news media hounded me for the story. I only did interviews if they paid me. I did not want them in my life, so I made it hard for them to get interviews by charging them lots of money. They paid anyway. I still can't get rid of them. Seems like the more I charge, the more they want the interview. My local dzo is complaining about some new dz opening up. The new dz is 50 miles further away, so I don't see what his big stink is about. The new jumpers act as heroes when they 'fess-up' to a fuckedup landing or skydive. It's like they say well, here's how I screwed my leg into the ground. Since I copped to it, I'm not the fuckup you always thought I was. Shit, these jerks screwed up and they know it. They're still a fuckup. Do ya'll think I should continue jumping? I will be getting implants soon. My rack is tiny and probably will stay that way. I want the boys to notice me for big tits. That's what seems to be popular.
