  1. Thanks for the invite, very nice offer to find a place with dedicated instructors. I have been to two different DZs in PA, will NOT NOT mention ANY names. I was "training" at a DZ that did not allow me to progress. I guess it was some kind of sick joke, but I finally woke up and left the place to try to find a real instructor who welcomes new people to skydiving.
  2. ok, cool. Super, I learn something new everyday. I am only trying to make the Sport easier for new people.
  3. Check your 2007 SIM progression card, "I" indicates INSTRUCTOR. A coach cannot sign a 2007 USPA progression card, it will be rejected by the USPA. I do not make the rules, I can only follow them.
  4. I did not intend to offend anyone, I am only speaking from my MANY experiences at DZs. (NY, PA, Canada, Europe)
  5. Clarification: In THEORY Instructors---teach students. In REALITY Instructors---perform only Tandems.
  6. What is the real purpose of a coach, when a coach cannot sign a proficiency card...!!! The student has to repeat everything over to an instructor, doubling the number of jumps and time required to get a license. It is nice to practice with someone, but that someone should be an instructor. Based on personal experience.....
  7. Is an instructor obligated to students, or to giving only tandem rides ? I started training at a new DZ Saturday, had to wait a few hours to get an instructor due to their tandem rides. Next day I goto the DZ, there were NO instructors available, on a Sunday! It seems the only time instructors are available, is when they have tandem rides to give. I realize most instructors are in skydiving to make money on tandem rides, but: are there ANY instructors that are instructors...???
  8. Does it matter if my 40 jumps were from last season, will they still be able to use last season jumps to fill a proficiency card? ...John
  9. Hi Mykel, Thanks for your time and help. Borghese sounds like a great teacher, were you his student? That would be great to use a twin otter at Burnaby, more practice per jump. Thanks again, John
  10. Thanks for the reply and info. I have all the USPA and CSPA books. Considering my location, perhaps I should consider a CSPA in Canada if I can find a Canadian DZ that will recognize USPA insructor endorsements, or unless I can find a USPA instructor in Canada. Any and all helpful advice is welcome, I need to get this done because I maybe leaving the area soon for school in August. Thanks, John
  11. Super Thanks for your info. I have completed 40 jumps last summer, have not jumped this summer yet, looking for good DZ. I am a USPA member, can I get a USPA license at Niagara Skydive or Burnaby? Is there a difference in the training requirements between a class A for USPA and CSPA? Thanks, John
  12. Thanks for your help and wisdom. My jumps are all in control, I have performed all maneuvers, and accurate landings usually within 30' of target center. I would love to come to you and finish my class A and B with you, but Colorado is kind of far from me. I guess I can check out the price of an airline ticket, because I only get problems from local area DZs. I started in Pennsylvania, but felt I was being held back so I tried a few other DZs but they would not recognize my log book endorsements of completed work signed by a licensed USPA instructor. You are correct in saying it is wrong for these DZs not to accept a licensed instructors endorsements, but it is a real problem at some DZs. Thanks, John
  13. I am looking for an instructor, either in Southern Ontario or Buffalo area that will acknowledge my 40 solo jumps endorsed in my log book, toward a Class A license. Please let me know if your interested in assisting me to obtain my Class A license. Thanks.....John
  14. Thank You for the reply!!! I agree with you, but I only have log book endorsements to verify completed work, and other DZ's do NOT accept other DZ training endorsements!! S.O.S.....John
  15. Which is easier to obtain USPA or CSPA class A? Which is easier and faster to obtain? I have 40 USPA jumps, I need to finish fast..!!! Should I goto Canada or USA???? I live in Buffalo NY area. Please send me a note. Thanks, John
