Cocking PC after canopy is in bag...
vladavr replied to skydivegirl's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I cock mine when lying on rolled canopy by pulling exposed kill-line out of the bridal, making sure all of the excess line is out. I finish cocking when canopy is already in the bag. -
No, it doesn't. It only happened to me twice. I always keep my second alarm at 2.5 as a backup for my 'built-in timer'.
-
No spirals or hard turns. The last time it went off happened right after I unstowed the togles, canopy usually 'dives' a little at this point. Do you think this could cause the second alarm go off? Weight 200lbs. Hornet 150

Thanks, guys! You made me feel much better
-
This is the second time my ProDytter's second alarm that I set at 2.5 goes off under canopy. Both times the canopy was fully opened when it went off, slider stowed.... Does anyone here has this happened? Would you still trust the little mfkr? P.S. Oh-yeah, I contacted manufacturer after the first time, they said it was fine, could be some turbulence (I don't know, what kind of turbulence could set an audible off without any effect on the canopy ). Anyone?

Thanks for replies. That probably means that I'd have to replace my 2-pin cutter with 1-pin cutter to be able to use it in Vector 3, right?
-
Is it possible/legitimate to use Cypres 2-pin in Vector 3 rig without converting it into 1-pin by replacing cutter? Thanks

I'll definately go with a short term lease to start with. Parking has been a problem everywhere I lived, can't live without a car though. Thanks. -

Thanks for reply. What's boys town? Outskirts sounds fine to me, as long as it's safe and inexpensive. I don't have any particular preferences as to the part of the city, never been there, don't know anyone from Chicago, don't know anything My biggest concern is the price but I don't want to find myself in the neighborhood where they shoot or something like that. -
Question to Chicago skydivers (non-skydiving related)
vladavr replied to vladavr's topic in The Bonfire
Hi, I'm looking to relocate to Chicago area from Boston MA. As I know nothing about Chicago, I thought I'd ask my skydiving brothas&sistas about what is a good and inexpensive place to live in Chicago. I noticed lots of adds in Craigslist Chicago with studios in Lakeview ($540-625/month). Is it a good deal? How's the neighborhood? I'll appreciate any recommendations. Thanks, Vlad
