Can't get on myspace? I remember reading an article that said the plan was to block access to myspace to deployed soliders/marines/sailors/airmen...bla blah blah. Anyway, I figured their would be some kind of warning. But, no one here has been able to get on myspace for the last 3 days. Anyone anywhere eles having the same problem? Finally went ahead and got the lifetime membership Pretty damn expensive though. I figure if I stay with the sport for more than than 16 years it will pay off. I may not agree with what you have to say but i'll defend to the death your right to say it.

how many people jump at your DZ?

At my home dz (before I left last september) their were about.....maybe 10 semi regulars. It is a very small dz. From what I hear they have picked up buisness and now have about 6 or 7 more regulars. I remember some days I would sit around all day saturday or sunday hoping a few people would show up so we could get a few loads up. Sometimes the dzo would throw me a bone and we would go up with just him one of the other staff and me. Its a great little dz. I'll be sad when I get out of the army and move away. Hopefully i'll at least be able to show up during the summer for their beach party I may not agree with what you have to say but i'll defend to the death your right to say it. -

Hey my girl is going to start aff pretty soon. The dz skydive midwest is (according to mapquest) only 7 minutes away from her house. I looked up the reviews on here. They seemed really generic. Their web site kinda gave me an odd vibe. Maybe it's just in my head because my girl is going to start aff? Anyone know anything about this dz? Sorry. I wasn't sure if I should put this in general skydivng forum or here. I figured I would put it here and hope that it got some responses before it got pushed away from the millions of post this forum gets everyday. exactly 9 months and 1 day. Was really looking forward to going home. I guess I'll just set the order form aside until it gets closer to the time I actually will go home. As for the extra pay. I hear they are extending so many of us they just can't afford to give us the extra thousand a month. Oh well. Ok so I know I don't know most of you people here but I need to vent. I was almost home. Saw the light at the end of the tunnel. I had just purchased a new (used) saber 150. I have my order form filled out and ready to mail for my new rig. Everything was looking great. What do I wake up to this morning? A 3 month extension. Sure 3 months may not sound all that long but out here it sure feels like a freakin life time. I may not agree with what you have to say but i'll defend to the death your right to say it.

I sure as hell hope my girl goes all the way through with it. You gotta have a hell of a lot of drive to get through it. Well at least if you were in a position like me. I really wasn't making that much money and I lived about 1 1/2 hours away from the closest dz. If you want it enough, you will make it happen. actually no. I didn't have the never to leave that there. Call me a pussy I guess. As for what I had said in regards to gipsi's goal of being better than everyone eles. Hey, it's possible. Stick with it and who knows where you will get. Though I doubt you will live long enough to get as good as me haha yeah right!

personally I love this post. Got a pretty good laugh. And who knows, you just might be better than a lot of people down the road. Never know. Personally I haven't broken up with my girl over skydiving but I have pissed her off. She called me out the other day because when I talk to her on the phone all I can do is talk about jumping and buying new gear when I get back...not seeing her. (by the way I am in Iraq)I have tried to put the talking about skydiving in check when I talk to her. I honestly don't know if I am more excited to get back up in the air than I am to see her. I hope not. Oh yeah and um, I know you just registered on dz.com so if you are reading this I love you, honest. It's just, I really REALLY love skydiving. Not that I don't really REALLY love you but....ok I know you wouldn't get it. I am sorry if you are reading this. Personally I think it is a great thing to do. Well most people that are homeless put themselves in that sitituation themselves they are still people...humans. I think we have a responsibility to do our best to help these people whatever way we can. Not just on Christmas or Thanksgiving. Year round. Intresting you should mention this. Just the other day I was sittin in my tent with my buddy. We were looking through some old parachutist mags. He pointed out that their didn't seem to be any black skydivers. It then occured to me that over the years I think I have only seen one black guy skydiving. I wonder why this is. Sadly I don't remember my very last jump before deployment. I remember one that was right before though. It was only a solo. I had gone up with a tandem in a 182. It was only the 3 of us. It was RIGHT at sunset. A thin layer of clouds in the air. I was head downd the whole time faceing the sun. As I lost alt. the sun appeared to sink into the horizon that much faster. Like sunset at fast forward. I remember being there...standing on my head, looking at the sun setting thinking "wow, this is really peacful" Then of course the altimeter goes off and I gotta pull I may not agree with what you have to say but i'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Oh ok never mind. I just read that you were in Afghanistan. Keep your head down too. I just had a friend of mine get messed up there. It was almost pretty bad but he got lucky. I may not agree with what you have to say but i'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Personally I got lucky as hell. I ended up finding a guy selling an Infinity on ebay that lived a few hours away. I went to meet him and check out the rig. It had ONE jump on it. Reserve never jumped. Perfect size canopy for me at the time. Looked great. He wanted 3k but when I pulled out 2 thousand in cash his eyes bulged out of his head and he happily accepted. It was quite a steal. Now, I am in the process of buying a brand new one. It is kinda a pain but that is probably because I am not at home.
