What's all this talk about broke back riggers? Geez... I leave you guys alone in the rat hole for less than a year and you're already going crazy, huh? -
Oh I forgot to mention the group of troubled young adults that visited our dz after spending about two weeks in the wilderness. That's two weeks in the wilderness WITHOUT showers! One word.... RIPE! I think we jumped about 30 of them that day (one of which was my first jump refusal). I am really impressed that none of us tandem instructors gagged from the stench.

I'll be there... all the way from the very rainy state of WA! -
My daddy (a non-jumper)! I was SOOOO nervous, I kept asking him if he was alright... my camera guy and fellow tandem instructors still give me shit for that! "Daddy, are you alright... Daddy, are you alright... Daddy are you alright?" -Lesa

Hey Chuck! I was there today... and almost cried when I saw the Penske truck parked outside with 50 years of history spilling out of it. I took some farewell photos. One is the Skymonkey drawing on the wall with all the signatures (including mine... I'm also a product of the GBSPA). See photos below. I have better photos and a little video if anyone wants it. -Zena

Thanks GW! And thanks again for being so patient with me in the TI course You're the BEST

And how would YOU know how good I look in nylon?

Sorry, I haven't been on DZ.COM in a while. No, sadly I was unable to attend the course since it was made an all-military course (like Skymonkey mentioned) That really sucked because I had trained with the guys and I really wanted to go through with them. I was planning to catch the course at the Farm, but I'm a working woman and couldn't get time off from work. So... I am not and AFF-I. However, I'm going to see if I can catch a course here soon. Also... I've been working on my TI and I have a few more jumps before my probation period. So I guess that's good Thanks for asking guys! I appreciate all your help and I will certainly heed your advice for when I eventually catch an AFF-I course! Zena

Thanks Gary! I appreciate your advice.

I hope to participate in a pre-course, but I work during the day and I'm assuming that the pre-course will mostly cater to the "guys" during the work week. I've been lucky enough to have two of the course evaluators work with me during the weekends, so if I can't participate in the pre-course... hopefully having my ass handed to me on the weekends will pay off a little. Thanks. B. Rhodes is the course director.

RPC. No tunnel nearby. However, I did drive nearly 12 hours round trip about two weeks ago to an outdoor tunnel near Asheville to spend 30 minutes flying slot, giving h&a signals and stopping spins. It was costly, but I can tell the difference after only 30 minutes and I'm glad I did it. The last two weekends, I've been training with evaluators doing dive flow and bottom end stuff. I'm slowly gaining confidence... I've still got a LOT to work on!

I am about to attend an AFF-I course in August and I'm really nervous. I've started training for it and have been extremely fortunate to have a handful of exceptional mentors willing to help me prep. If anyone has advice on preparing for such a course, I would appreciate it. Thanks so much! Zena

"Skydive The Farm" is nestled in the beautiful lush green countryside of Rockmart, Georgia. The grounds are manicured to golf course standards and the facilities are clean and well maintained. The 5 minute shuttle ride from the dz to the airport gives jumpers a chance to get to know each other. If you Mapquest your trip, you may become confused. I recommend using the directions provided on the "Skydive The Farm" website. Also, construction on Thorton Rd./278 (coming from Atlanta) may prolong your trip time. Plan for delays. This has been one of my best drop zone experiences. The staff was very genuine, friendly and humble. No attitudes, no assumptions. Hans, Sandy, Mike (Chuting Star Rigging), John and others made the long drive worth while. Thanks to all for a great experience!
