    A couple of empty 9mm casings fit almost perfectly in your ears... Make good ear plugs.

    Europro makes a machine that is table top and has all metal gears. You can't hardly break it. You can break needles... I doubt you are going to find anything that will sew Type 8 webbing without going big. I have a couple of Brother machines I got at Wal-Mart and I sew a lot. I make freefly pants, tubes and other stuff and have never had an issue with this $100 machine. I know I need a bigger one but I sure like the convenience. I also found this site that sells some VERY tough thread that fits in regular machines. http://www.americanhomeandhabitat.com/catagories/fabric.htm

    How are you liking the canopy? How many jumps do you have on it now?

    We did one of these at the AOT Boogie and Ramon held on to Gemini and I and stood up. Gemini's Protrack said 168 for the second half of the skydive. We we moving!

    You might want to make sure your oven is calibrated correctly. I know two guys that lived in a rent house that burned the buckles off their Boneheads in the oven. The thermostat was a couple of hundred degrees off. This is common on older ovens!

    Do you feel comfortable taking a gripped exit? If you do you can keep them close till you get to terminal and you won't get so much separation.

    If you watch the video from last years Nationals in Eloy (Omniskore) there was one team that actually flew in and climbed on. It was totally cool. I don't know but it looked like the guy on his belly was going really fast... The footage is excellent and will give you some fun ideas!

    This week-end (9-21&22) Oscar will be at Texas Skydiving Center (Lexington) doing a little coaching. If you are just getting started doing camera work it might be a good chance to talk to a pro. They will have the regular Otter from Spaceland so it should be a great time! Big party Saturday night!

    Lime and vodka... Done! Per popular request I am leaving the everclear soaked fruit out this time. Too many people had bruises like Beth! There will also be the normal disco ball and laser light show! We need to get Hardin to DJ again!

    When both my boys started skydiving (Skygeek & jking) I bought their first suits. Since I was already freeflying I figured they would to. We got "Hybrid" suits. I had Christina from Merlin Suits build a normal RW suit and put Freefly legs on them. They made great training suits! You can do either in them. Just recently I cut the booties off my camera suit and added freefly legs. (This is an option) and I love the suit!

    Just don't let it do this to you Dave! This was caused by twisted brake lines which caused a tension not and blocked the slider up. Luckily on the next pull after the video stops it all came free. Just as I was at my hard deck of 2,000. (Yes I always pull high when filming, sometimes it pays off!) (Sorry the video was to big to post, if you send me your e-mail and I will send it to you.)

    You might also think about "Training" swoop cords. I have used shock cord (Bungee cord) to make the cords. They stretch and will allow you to reach all our controls in case something happens. You can work with the length to get the right amount of tension to fly right and still not impair your reach. They work great!

    I shoot video and in 3 years I would bet I have 10 videos of unconscious people landing. All did great in freefall but went out during canopy flight. The tandem masters did a great job of landing them and when we saw it we yelled for extra ground crew and held them up on landing until the harness was disconnected and set them down gently. Never any bad after affects...

    Funny that Roger is getting beat up for his reputation. When I saw him at the Mardi Gras Boogie he talked about skydivers in general and how low we were on the social scale and how he wanted to change that. Wanted to clean up the langauge and actions and he was starting at his DZ. He challenged us all to clean it up. You could tell from his talking that he loves our sport and what we do. Of all the things he wants I am sure it isn't to bring negative press on Skydivers.
