  1. Bodyflight Bedford will be hosting tryouts for their junior team on SUNDAY 4th DECEMBER. We're looking for skydivers who are new to 4-way and want to be a part of the Bodyflight project to train at the tunnel and UK DZ's, coached by former Sebastian XL members John McIver and Steve Hamilton. PLEASE NOTE There will be NO FREE TUNNEL TIME involved...sorry ! Still interested?? contact john@bodyflight.co.uk or steve@bodyflight.co.uk
  2. Hope I'm not one of the ones you hate Marc..... I'm trying my best Why not come along to a Team Bodyflight camp and check us out...slots available for 3rd and 4th December.......
  3. Thanks for the flights last night Simon....nice smooth, powerful airflow...and a bike-shop next door ! Perfect
  4. This is something that was clarified when our team attended PD rep training as part of our sponsorship. PD state that a high proportion of landing injuries are sustained by in-experienced jumpers on canopies that have been recommended to them by instructors based on a (relatively) low wing-loading....1:1 is not that much but the 120lb jumper will experience a dramatic increase in performance as a result of the shorter lines...the canopy will respond (i.e turn) MUCH faster and more steeply. Not trying to scare you here, just spread awareness. Now, this is also no dis to any instructors out there still dispensing advice to light AFF grads regarding appropriate canopy size......I had 9000 jumps at the time(1200 AFF) and I replied that the performance in the 2 scenarios would be identical !!
  5. A little quiz here....190lb jumper (exit weight) on a 190 sqft canopy......120lb jumper(exit weight0 on same type of canopy 120sqft......both 1:1 ratio...will they experience the same performance ? Different? Why?
  6. Hi brycew, your progress will be much more rapid if you can get onto a structured camp rather than just throwing yourself into the tunnel...it'll still be fun just not as efficient from a learning point of view. The Airspeed camps are great, you can't go wrong...those guys will take care of ya !
  7. I heard that the Russians are secretly working on a hydrogen-powered underground tunnel in the depths of Siberia....it's gonna be 200 ft across apparently, staffed entirely by former Miss Soviet Union winners, and has a free vodka bar........just a rumour though
  8. Ft. Bragg is, indeed, a great tunnel. We were fortunate enough to get the chance to train there for 3 days a few years ago. However, Bedford has the same air quality....and is 2 ft bigger
  9. John McIver and Steve Hamilton, formerly of UK national 4-way team sebastian xl are running tunnel camps and coaching at the Bodyflight Bedford tunnel in the UK. For details contact: steve@bodyflight.co.uk
